Coming up today, pastor Ray Bentley shows us how God took care of business when it came to demolishing the man made idols of biblical times. And we'll see. He's ready, willing, and able to do the same today. And there are many of us that are spending time and energy defending God. We don't need to defend God. How many of you believe that God is able to defend himself, and the idols will come crashing down as they did then, so the idols of our time will come crashing down, spreading.
The devil is more powerful than we are much more powerful. But pastor Ray Bentley points out, greater is he that is in us than he that is in the world. What happens when you get in a situation and you're there alone and it's dangerous and you're outmanned, outgunned and outnumbered? What do you do? You call for backup. When the devil comes to confront us. A call for backup. And your backup is the Lord Jesus Christ.
Pastor Ray Bentley says true believers believe. But it's much more than that. It's a set of convictions that changes us from the inside out. Christianity is not just a matter of right beliefs. It is more than correct doctrine. The Lord wants you to experience him, and it is to be a transformational experience. Be transformed by the renewing of your mind. You see all of these people coming down before the King.
One of the problems in our human nature is that we can reach a point where we kind of think we know it all. Nobody would admit that. But how many of us act like that? Pastor Ray Bentley says that kind of perspective is one of the ways we can actually frustrate our attempts to grow spiritually. Today, he makes some important recommendations. The healthiest attitude I can have is to remain teachable.
Sharing our faith can be a challenge. But pastor Ray badly says that assignment is too important to pass up. Persevere in your witness. Some of you are saying, hey, you know what? I've already shared with my dad and he is definitely letting me know he doesn't want anything to do with it. And some of you have given up and quit too soon because you never know when the final seconds and moments of life when they might finally give their lives to the Lord.
It's a simple message, but it has the power to save people from judgment. Pastor Ray Bentley says we all need to share the good news. There is something powerful about the gospel. It's what changed my life. It's what changed your life. And it's what the world is dying to hear. Do not underestimate its appeal. Do not be ashamed of its simplicity. Do not doubt its authority. Just share it.
Jesus is the shepherd. We are his lambs. And pastor Ray Bentley says, when we speak up for Christ with his power, we'll be like lambs that roar. People are hungry spiritually, and they're looking for somebody to just stir it up. You open your mouth, and you might be afraid that all that will come out is a man, but you open your mouth in faith and believe me, the Lord says, I will fill it. and when the Lord speaks, it will roar.
When Jesus returns, pastor Ray Bentley says his mission and purpose will be different than that of his first coming. Jesus came the first time as a lamb to die on the cross to pay for our sins. But he said, I'm coming again. And he said, when I come again, I'm not coming as a lamb anymore. I am coming as the lion of the tribe of Judah. And I think when he comes, he's ready to roar, and he wants to roar through his lambs.
Pastor Ray Bentley says, we serve a king who transcends time and who surpasses all earthly powers. Past, present, and future. How many of you could even mention or name to me the ten most well-known prominent Roman concerts? I mean, the only thing that we know Caesar for today is that a nice salad was named after him. But the name of Jesus is known all over the world
There are dozens of ways to share our faith and hundreds of excuses why we often don't. Pastor Ray Bentley says, Share Christ. It's that simple. There's a lot of talk today about the culture wars we're losing, the culture wars. But nowhere in the Bible did Jesus say, go win the culture and you will win men. Jesus said, when men and then their culture and their world turned upside down, we'll follow. Jesus said, follow me.
