Dom Giordano, WPHT host and former teacher, has dedicated much of his daily show toward parents who are taking it into their own hands to push back against school boards that have a negative impact on their children. This has culminated in a weekly podcast on education, Readin', Writin', and Reason, which has allowed wonderful relationships to develop between Giordano, educators, and parents throughout the country who are speaking out against overbearing school boards.
First, Dom welcomes PA's House Republican Leader Bryan Cutler back onto the podcast to discuss why he’s sponsored a bill in the statehouse to protect the William Penn Statue in Welcome Park that is targeted for removal by the National Park Service. The statue, which stands in a park on land owned by Native Americans, is going to remove in a renovation of the park which celebrates Native American history. Leader Cutler, along with Giordano, suggests that the William Penn statue be allowed to co-exist with the new celebration of Native American history, with a space large enough to accommodate both. Then, Cutler takes us inside Harrisburg, telling us why a leaky roof has led to a stalled environment, and explains what’s coming up to look forward to in the statehouse.
Then, Dom welcomes back Oklahoma State Superintendent of Public Instruction Ryan Walters onto the show to discuss the efforts he’s making in his state to return normalcy to our public schools. Walters tells about a push he’s made in his state to allow private institutions access to public funding, telling the ideology behind the idea that he hopes will force fixes in public schools. Walters explains the desire of voters to remove the ‘woke mind virus’ from the teachings of our children, and suggests how other states can follow his lead.
