Dom Giordano, WPHT host and former teacher, has dedicated much of his daily show toward parents who are taking it into their own hands to push back against school boards that have a negative impact on their children. This has culminated in a weekly podcast on education, Readin', Writin', and Reason, which has allowed wonderful relationships to develop between Giordano, educators, and parents throughout the country who are speaking out against overbearing school boards.
First, Dom welcomes in State Representative Donna Scheuren after news this week that her bill to protect homeowners has been largely squashed by Democrats, who want to prioritize squatters over homeowners. Also, Scheuren delves into the passing of the new budget in which Republicans had to regrettably make some concessions concerning school choice, with Scheuren highlighting some of the things that she and other conservatives were able to get into the bill, including a huge advancement for armed security in Pennsylvania schools.
Then, Dom welcomes in Officer Mark Dallas, a retired school resource officer from out in Dixon, Illinois, who thwarted a school shooting at a graduation rehearsal a couple years back by shooting and wounding the assailant. Dallas was invited on the show after a new budget was passed within the past few weeks in Pennsylvania that suggests all school districts employ an armed security guard. Dallas takes us through the sad day, and explains why his presence saved many lives, telling how he hopes to help to train incoming resource officers.
