Dom Giordano, WPHT host and former teacher, has dedicated much of his daily show toward parents who are taking it into their own hands to push back against school boards that have a negative impact on their children. This has culminated in a weekly podcast on education, Readin', Writin', and Reason, which has allowed wonderful relationships to develop between Giordano, educators, and parents throughout the country who are speaking out against overbearing school boards.
First, Dom welcomes in Rebecca Johnson, a mother of 4 in the Perkiomen Valley School District and mental health practitioner, to hear why she and other parents have been up in arms over the school district’s bathroom policy, with parents demanding that children be required to use the bathroom aligning with the sex that they were born with. Rebecca tells us why she’s taken such a strong stand, and what she hopes to see from the district moving forward.
Then, Dom welcomes in Riley Gaines, former NCAA swimmer who’s since become an activist defending Women’s Rights after her experience swimming against Lia Thomas, former transgendered swimmer for UPenn. First, Dom asks Riley about her security detail, asking her about the threats she’s faced for defending what should be the morally correct way to respect Title IX. Then, Dom asks Riley about an upcoming event she's hosting that honors Real Women during the month of October.
