Dom Giordano, WPHT host and former teacher, has dedicated much of his daily show toward parents who are taking it into their own hands to push back against school boards that have a negative impact on their children. This has culminated in a weekly podcast on education, Readin', Writin', and Reason, which has allowed wonderful relationships to develop between Giordano, educators, and parents throughout the country who are speaking out against overbearing school boards.

First, Olympic Champion Swimmer and CEO of Champion Women Nancy Hogshead-Makar joins the podcast to discuss why her organization has decided to speak out against transgendered Penn swimmer Lia Thomas. First, Giordano asks Hogshead-Makar for her general thoughts on the discussion that has risen in the wake of Thomas centered on transgendered individuals competing in women’s sports. Then, Giordano and Hogshead-Makar discuss the UPenn situation individually, with Hogshead-Makar telling how the Penn swimmers feel after having the rug taken from under their feet competitively. In addition, Hogshead-Makar tells what could be done against an administration who stands strongly behind Thomas, even levying threats toward contesting swimmers, and explains how she and her organization plan to push back.

Then, Mark Hemingway, Senior Writer at RealClearInvestigations, joins the podcast to discuss a commentary piece he penned for the great website, focusing on the rise of parental input into curriculum decisions throughout the country. In the piece, Hemingway writes of the spinning of the effort into ‘book banning’ by the Left, particularly centered on the removal of Maus from a Tennessee school. Hemingway, who sits on a school board himself, explains why parental input is incredibly important, and tells the differences between parental input and ‘book burning.’

Finally, attorney Bruce Afran representing FreeNJKids returns to discuss the news that Governor Phil Murphy will be lifting the mask mandate beginning on March 7th. First, Giordano asks Afran for his overall thoughts on the change of tone, with Bruce explaining that it’s a little too little too late, asking why we still have to wait until early March to end the damage being done on children. Afran tells whether he plans to fight the new masking edicts, and offers his opinion on a situation playing out in Perkiomen over the constitutionality of their mask mandate.
