Really Famous with Kara Mayer Robinson

Acting icon Eric Roberts joins me for a special talk about something he didn't want to talk about during our first podcast, which ran a few months ago. But he agreed to sit down and talk about it this time. It's a special bonus about stuttering, family abuse and, well, a little more than that. It's all here for you, in the raw, unpolished and as we recorded it. Please let me know what you think. Let's discuss it all. Add a comment to the YouTube videos with me and Eric on my Really Famous YouTube channel here:

The Adam Ruins Everything creator and stand-up comic presents me with a big apology. Then we get personal.

Stand-up comic and creator of the TV series Adam Ruins Everything Adam Conover makes a grand gesture and sincere apology for something we did years ago. We dive into what happened the first time we filmed—and I later scrapped—a podcast because of Adam's attitude. We rehash the situation, Adam apologizes, I use her therapist POV to analyze what drives Adam, we dish on other guests we've each had on our shows, and Adam opens up about his recent breakup, therapy, ADD, shame and more.

Tim Daly talks about him often and finally, we get to sit down with him. It's Steven Weber, friends.

The quintessential Steven Weber interview.

The Chicago Med, Wings, The Shining, Curb Your Enthusiasm actor reveals his personal struggles and joys and how his family and friends changed everything.

Plus we get into a little therapy talk. And television talk. And there's some joking around. Enjoy.

Celebrity interview by Kara Mayer Robinson --

This is a big, huge, revealing talk with Chris Noth.

Chris is an actor. He played Detective Mike Logan on Law & Order and Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Peter Florrick on The Good Wife, and William Bishop on The Equalizer. He was nominated for Golden Globe awards for Sex and the City and for The Good Wife.

He's best known as Mr. Big in the HBO series Sex and the City, the Sex and the City movies that came later, and (spoiler alert) one episode of the follow-up series And Just Like That. Mr. Big, of course, was the, well, let's just call him the somewhat unattainable love interest of the main character, Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker.

In case you're not aware, there's been a lot of, I guess we can call it, drama, surrounding Sex & the City. There have been rumors of tension between SJP and Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha, and there's been a bunch of criticism surrounding some of the characters and plotlines in the original series and the reboot, And Just Like That.

But the biggest drama is surrounding Chris Noth. In 2021, there were several sexual assault allegations against Chris published in THR and The Daily Beast. He was never criminally charged and said at the time that it wasn't true, but there was an immediate impact. He was written off The Equalizer, for starters. Soon after, Sarah Jessica Parker and her SATC castmates, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, put out a public statement about the situation.

I read it to you so you know exactly what we're talking about when Chris and I get into this.

OK, so. After that, his lawyers told him to not say anything. So he stopped talking publicly. Behind the scenes, a lot more was going on. And you're about to hear about all of it.

A Shockingly Authentic Sit-Down with Spike Lee. Spike Lee reveals himself in the most authentic, interactive interview you've seen with the legendary filmmaker (in my humble opinion). Awkward at times, hilarious at others, and authentic every single minute. Watch me figure out which way to go when Spike challenges me on everything like:

- why Spike Lee is a tough nut to crack

- Spike Lee's beef with Quentin Tarantino

- Spike's childhood

- Spike Lee's disappointment in the distribution of his new AppleTV movie Highest 2 Lowest

- Regrets

- Getting Fired (or not)

- Therapy

and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Joe Mantegna says I probably know him better than any human after today's talk. So that means you know him better than most too (if you also caught our first two talks on Really Famous). The iconic actor opens up about his personal life, family, marriage, famous friends, regrets, business ventures and incredibly good perspective on life. We hit everything from Al Pacino and Diane Keaton to Fat Tony (The Simpsons), what Tom Hanks taught him on Bosom Buddies, and what you may be surprised to find out. It's Joe, the real deal.

I break a couple of hard fast rules of mine for Steve Zahn because it's his 3rd time on the podcast and we're in a groove. And he's in London. Also, I'm obsessed with season one of The White Lotus and must discuss it with him, as well as share my honest thoughts on where the series went from there.

Find out which rules I broke and why Sean Penn comes up twice in this talk.

Then go find Steve's new film, SHE DANCES, starring Steve and his daugher Audrey Zahn. Steve wrote it with his creative partner Rick Gomez and it also stars Steve's friend Ethan Hawke. It was recently at the Tribeca Film Festival and it's a beautiful film.

That's right, 7. It's Tim Daly's 7th time on Really Famous, but it's our 1st time doing it in Los Angeles instead of New York. So it's different. Oh and also, Tim is married now. To Téa Leoni, who played his wife on the popular TV series Madam Secretary. Today, like always, Tim Daly doesn't holds back with me. At this point, it's two friends getting together, where the beans are spilled every time. Tim, who's also known for Wings, The Sopranos, Private Practice and the new Netflix series Leanne, opens up about marrying Téa Leoni, their secret wedding, their even more secret honeymoon and the marriage pact they made together. Plus Tim reflects on his mother's alcoholism and his surprising story of resilience, his regrets about what he told his children about divorce, and how gratitude and perspective are a key part of his life. Listen here or watch on YouTube if you'd like to see us in action.
