This episode is all about mental health in the workpace. relationships with others and oneself. Amy Smith, the heart and soul behind Kindred; Consulting with Purpose. Kindred is all about equipping leaders with the tools they need to create trauma-informed, mentally healthy workplaces. Amy worked for about 9 years with not-for-profits as a social worker, working with people seeking aslyum, refugees and in suicide prevention and mental health before starting her own business. Kindred began because Amy was frustrated at the disconnect between the trauma-informed care frontline workers were expected to provide to others, and the tangible support offered to those very same staff daily. Amy reasons with me about how, in any organisation that involves humans it is imperative to have an emotionally safe trauma-informed environment.

This episode is all about post-traumatic growth. Experiencing a traumatic event can have a transformational role among specific individuals and can facilitate development and the ability to shift and change. Ellie Rose is a counsellor and psychotherapist with a fire in her belly to shake up mental health. Out of her own frustrations from working in and researching youth mental health across the past decade, she created Cocoon Mental Health, providing sessions, workshops and content for those of us who want to move on from our family issues and thrive in this big, sometimes confusing life. Cocoon uses a chilled-out, creative approach to therapy (no boring, clinical b.s here!) with the belief that you can do and be all the things you want to - because you’ve always deserved more. Ellie reasons with me about the 5 stages of post-traumatic growth and how we could benefit greatly by focusing on the change and possibilities that people can grasp after traumatic experiences.

This episode is all about two blokes talking about recovery and therapy. Nick Bowditch is a successful (and unsuccessful) entrepreneur, motivational speaker, trauma and addiction therapist, and best-selling author. He has survived the corporate world, escaped to the startup world, was lured back to the corporate world to manage small business and startup operations at both Facebook and then at Twitter, and is now again working for himself as both a therapist and a motivational speaker all over Australia and internationally. Nick reasons with me about his own journey of recovery, the real hard-hitting reality of doing the work and the lessons he has learnt along the way. This is as authentic and vulnerable as it gets with a candid conversation with solid notes of connection, laughter and love.

This episode is all about LURVEEEE. Love is a big topic. This is a solo episode on all things love. I thought it best and most authentic if I speak from the heart rather than research the hell out of it. There is lots of opinions, controversial pain points and misconceptions when it comes to the topic of love and I did not want to get all up in the nitty and gritty of it, so instead this podcsat for you if you want a raw and honest perspective on love. I cover what is love, how it links to attachment, self-worth and mental health. I reason with you about vulnerability, risk and pain that can show up along with the idea of fantasy vs intuition to start to break down how this complex feeling and sensation can play a role in our relationships and in our lives. I end on a curious note on the concept of saying I love you and I bring it home to come back to self and the realms of self-love.
