Rebinge Star Trek Voyager

Hello Star Trek fans and welcome to Rebinge It! This week Harry goes rogue and decides to break some rules by falling in love with an alien. We're not exactly sure which rule he's broken or why Janeway is so mad, but apparently it's all very bad.

The Voyager crew finds themselves helping a ship in distress (actually a bunch of small ships strapped together into one giant ship). The repairs are bumpy and the diplomacy bumpier as the Varro have proven to be quite unfriendly and unappreciative - not to mention they've got some internal strife brewing. It doesn't help that Harry gets himself embroiled in a love affair that has physiological implications.

It’s a re-watch of a thing you’ve probably already seen but love to watch and talk about. We go deep with every episode, walking you through every scene and analyzing all of the characters and story lines. In each episode we discuss “Women in the Future” and “Janeway’s Leadership Corner” while over-analyzing everything.

Be sure to listen to our previous episode S5E16: Dark Frontier Part II where Janeway has never been so emboldened.

Hello Star Trek fans and welcome to Rebinge It! This week Janeway reflects on Seven's time as part of the crew and whether it was real before embarking on a dangerous rescue mission. Susanna Thompson plays the Borg Queen.

When Seven suddenly abandons the crew to rejoin the Borg collective, Janeway is suspicious. B'Elanna doesn't help by immediately dismissing Seven as never being "one of us," but Naomi reminds Janeway that someone else does care about Seven. Meanwhile over in Borg land, the queen is desperately trying to get Seven on board with her humanity assimilation plan. But never fear, the boogeyman of the Borg (Janeway) is hatching a plan.

Hello Star Trek fans and welcome to Rebinge It! This week we engage the Borg! Janeway wants to get her hands on a transwarp coil and she's feeling lucky (and cocky).

When Voyager manages to destroy a small Borg vessel, Janeway gets pretty cocky and wants to go for a bigger prize. The team is a little skeptical, but follow Janeway anyway. For the most part the plan works!

Hello Star Trek fans and welcome to Rebinge It! This week we cover Star Trek Voyager S5E14: Bliss where we discover a wormhole that leads directly to earth. Is it too good to be true? William Morgan Sheppard guest stars as Qatai.

When Voyager discovers a wormhole leading directly to earth, everyone suddenly turns unreasonably optimistic about this new path home. Everyone, that is, except for Seven and Naomi Wildman. When Seven discovers the wormhole isn't all it appears to be, she enlists the help of a Qatai, an alien who is stuck inside this supposed wormhole.

Hello Star Trek fans and welcome to Rebinge It! This week we cover Star Trek Voyager S5E13: Gravity where Tom, Tuvok and the doctor get sucked into a subspace sinkhole of sorts (and for some magical reason we are in a crappy shuttle, not the Flyer). Tank Girl star Lori Petty guest stars as a peculiar little alien named Noss with big feelings for Tuvok.

You may have heard us mention the graphic novel Space Odditorium in this episode. Please give it a look!

When a Voyager shuttle is sucked into a subspace sinkhole it crashes on a class-D desert planet. Things aren't all bad as we meet Noss who offers shelter and spider stew. But when months go by, Tom gives up hope of a rescue and displays his insensitive side by getting mad at Tuvok for being Vulcan. Tuvok maintains his composure while fending off Tank Girl's attraction and Tom's nonsense. Meanwhile on Voyager, we learn the shuttle has only been missing for a few hours! Something is amiss with time. (It's probably Tom's fault.)

Hello Star Trek fans and welcome to Rebinge It! This week we cover Star Trek Voyager S5E12: Bride of Chaotica where a whole lot of nonsense happens on the holodeck. Martin Rayner returns as Chaotica along with Nicholas Worth as Lonzak.

When Voyager gets trapped on a subspace reef (of sorts), photonic beings from another dimension interact with Tom's Captain Proton holo-program. While this seems like all fun and games, Dr. Cahotica ends up in a war with these new life forms and we begin causing them actual harm. Janeway dresses up as Archania to disrupt Chaotica's plans. This is a weird episode with a weird tone that never quite lives up to the fun and games of the visuals.

Hello Star Trek fans and welcome to Rebinge It! This week we cover Star Trek Voyager S5E11: Latent Image where the doctor suffers an existential crisis and Janeway tries to erase it. Nancy Bell guest stars as Ensign Jetal.

When the doctor discovers a gap in his memory, he uncovers what he thinks is a (possibly alien) conspiracy. Turns out, Janeway made the decision 18 months prior to erase his memories to undo a feedback loop caused by a life or death decision the doctor was forced to make. Seven doesn't think Janeway is treating the doctor fairly and makes her reconsider her decision. But what happened? And who is this mysterious ensign that we've never heard of before?

Hello Star Trek fans and welcome to Rebinge It! This week we cover Star Trek Voyager S5E10: Counterpoint where Janeway has met her match in the tall comely Devore Inspector Kashyk. Mark Harelik guest stars.

In Devore space, Voyager is forced to undergo frequent inspections by men in tight fitting leather uniforms searching for telepaths. Inspector Kashyk takes a keen interest in our captain even suggesting he's going to defect from his own people and help her escape. But is he telling the truth or is he hiding a dark truth?

Hello Star Trek fans and welcome to Rebinge It! This week we cover Star Trek Voyager S5E9: Thirty Days where Tom ends up in the brig and loses his rank. Willie Garson guest stars as Riga.

When Voyager encounters a planet made up entirely of ocean, Tom surfaces an obsession with Jules Vern and all things nautical. Janeway agrees to help the Moneans investigate why the ocean containment is failing, but turns out they don't really want to hear the truth. Tom takes drastic measures to get the aliens to listen to reason.

Hello Star Trek fans and welcome to Rebinge It! This week we cover Star Trek Voyager S5E8: Nothing Human where a giant rubber alien (see image below) attacks B'Elanna and the doctor uses AI (kind of) to try and save her. David Clennon guest stars as Crell.

When the doctor needs an exobiologist to save B'Elanna from an unfamiliar alien, he recreates an expert in the field on the holodeck. While this seems like a good idea, the doctor in question is Dr. Crell Moset a Cardassian with a spotty past (what Cardassian doesn't have a spotty past??). B'Elanna and the other Maquis on board (especially the Bajoran crew member) are outraged. Seems like we could have fudged reality a little bit here and everyone would have been none the wiser.
