Reel Politik Podcast

Jack, Geraint, Yair and special guest Welsh Steffan (@phased_bemused) dust off their podcasting boots for a special episode to celebrate the vanquishing of their greatest nemesis, as Sir Keir Starmer finally announced his resignation yesterday after an ignominious two-year premiership. Naturally, we wish him the worst in his future endeavours.

We promised we'd get a final run of episodes out before the end of 2025...and completely failed to deliver!!! Anyway we are temporarily returning to fulfil our self-imposed commitments, firstly with this episode addressing the hot-button issue everyone is dying to hear our takes on - last year's Oasis reunion tour! With diehard Gallagher enthusiast Jack FR joined once again by resident Oasis correspondent "horse", diehard Wales enthusiast Geraint is forced to act as the voice of reason in contrast to two serious MADFERRIT Oasis heads.

You heard it here first. By the end of 2025 we will be ceasing all operations and bringing the Reel Politik podcast to a close after 9 years in an amicable "conscious decoupling". We intend to drop a few more episodes, then it's over and out. It's been real!

In 1973, Mike Gapes returns from a relaxing "Gape Year" in Swaziland to find that his beloved Ilford South has changed beyond all recognition. What was once a paradise of Real Labour Values has succumbed to entryism at the hands of the sinister forces of Trotskyism, and only Gapes and his trusty team of Gape Goon Generals - including fascist borstal headmaster Frank Young, escaped fascist war criminal Stormzy, newspaper editor Jimothy Baker Sr., notorious rock and roll innovator Johnny Polio, GapesMobile chauffer Gorgeous Georgie, Graham Goodnonce, Dr. Geoffrey Garmer and Geraint Gestapo - can save it from certain ruin, in what is easily in the top hundred bloodiest military campaigns ever supported by Michael John Gapes.

The Reel Politik podcast and GAPECAST proudly present TALKING GAPE, a new series hosted by George from @PuroPodcast in which series creators Jack FR and FFF go behind the scenes of each new episode of GAPECAST as they air. In this companion conversation to S02E01 - RAP AGAINST GAPE, we talk satire in the age of Gapes, not giving a fuck about Britain's relationship to the European Union, and dropping Easter Eggs for the real hip-hop heads.

[Next episode will try and add a theme song and shit]

In the first new GAPECAST since the start of 2021, we travel back in time to the 1980s to follow a young-ish Mike Gapes - still yet to be elected MP-For-Life of Ilford South - as he crosses the Atlantic to bring his golden touch to the city of Los Angeles, California, by creating the crack epidemic and inventing the musical subgenre of gangsta rap. Narrated by retired CIA operative and Gapes handler Felix Lieterman (Yair Rice), this exclusive audio documentary features brand new interviews with Gapes himself and the actor and Israel spokesperson Michael "White Mike" "Milk" Rapaport, famously defeated by Gapes in the rap beef of the century.

Forgotten where we're at in the Ilford South Extended Universe since the last GAPECAST almost five years ago? Not to worry - with the imminent release of GAPECAST S02E01: RAP AGAINST GAPE, the RP Archives Team have compiled JIMOTHY BAKER OMNIBUS, a compilation of all Ilford South investigative journalist Jimothy Baker's appearances on the Reel Politik podcast from 2019-24. The 2019 and 24 general elections, the 2020 US election, the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the forthcoming Johnny Polio reissue series....hear Jimothy opine from a place of great knowledge on many of the key issues that have shaped the last five plus years of Ilford South and, to a lesser extent, the world.

Produced by Jack FR, artwork by @MarkedAsRed. Jimothy Baker is portrayed by Farages Fucked Face, who did any writing that went into these largely improvised appearances.
