This episode I sit down and chat with Matt Wallbank. Matt is taking on the monumental task of running 654 km during the month of October 2021. This is 1km for every suicide in New Zealand last year. A number that is far to high. His motivation for doing so is to help raise funds and awareness for I am Hope. I am Hope connect the youth of New Zealand with mental health counsellors and practitioners, so they can get timely support, without the added stress of how to pay the bill. During this podcast we discuss a range of topics and get to know Matt himself and his motivating factors to take on such a challenge. We also discuss some of his personal struggles, the support network he has, the importance of gratitude, the gift of giving and so much more.

This episode I catch up with 2 x world billfish champion Bonze. This episode I catch up with Ben Tapuai. Ben is someone I met through rugby when we played together for the Barbarians back in 2015.
Ben has a very impressive professional rugby CV, representing the Queensland Reds and Western Force in Super Rugby, Bath and Harlequins in the UK Premiership and also represented Australia when he was a member of the Wallabies from 2011-2013. During that time he won a Super Rugby title with the Reds and just this year a UK Premiership with Harlequins.

This episode I was lucky enough to sit down with New Zealand and World cricket icon Brendon McCullum. Brendon represented the Black Caps from 2002-2016 playing 101 Tests, 260 ODI's and 71 T20 internationals. He was also the first Kiwi to score a triple Test century when on the 18th of February 2014 he played an innings that stopped the nation. He is a Blackcap who has represented the team in both ODI and T20 cricket as a wicketkeeper batsman. It has been T20 cricket where he has really made a name for himself for his aggressive batting style at the top of the order, and is currently the New Zealand record holder for the fast century which came off only 40 balls. He has also competed at both the CPL and world famous IPL. This episode I sit down with New Zealand track cyclist Jessie Hodges. Jessie is going to be competing at the 2021 Olympic games in Tokyo. When most people think of Olympic athletes they assume a lifetime of dedication to their chosen sport, with Jessie this definitely isn't the case. She only developed a passion and drive for the sport of cycling when she suffered a serious knee injury in her last year of high school competing in her then, chosen sport of netball. It was the hours spent on a stationary bike during her rehabilitation that fuelled a fire in her that has seen her go on to represent New Zealand within her first two years in the sport and now become an Olympic athlete. During this podcast we discuss some great topics and get an insight into the life of an extremely promising Olympic athlete.
