EB said, “My job is to clean up the shit and we continue moving forward.” A brutally honest quote. We talk about what it means for a leader to take responsibility for a bad performance and how he intends to move forward.
We look at the injury report for both the Commanders and Eagles and take note of Logan Thomas (concussion) participating fully in practice which is a good sign for Sunday.
And we have a special Brian Robinson, Jr film session breaking down his 10 rushes for 70 yards and why he didn’t touch the ball more.
Cool Down - Sam Howell avoiding a sack? Big day for Cole Turner? Brian Robinson takeover game? It's time for those BOLD predictions as the Washington Commanders take on the Philadelphia Eagles.
Game - No one is giving the Washington Commanders a chance against the Philadelphia Eagles. Will Ref the District be able to map out a way to victory for the Burgundy and Gold?
Warm Up - Ref the District takes a look at the Eric Bieniemy offense three weeks into the season. They've been pass happy so far, but they've also had success on the ground. Should EB turn to the RTDB mentality or keep airing it out?
Ron Rivera said Sam Howell's development is as important as wins. PFT ranks the Commanders after their week 3 loss. The PFF grades are out and maybe not as bad as you think! This and more on your Daily Commanders Update.
Not much went right for the Washington Commanders. But where did it all go wrong? This was still a 16-0 game in the 4th quarter before it all fell apart.
We look at each of Sam Howell’s interceptions in our film session and give our Go-Go’s and No-Go’s.
It was a terrible performance all the way around for Washington. Their offensive line was under assault all game long and Sam Howell had no way to avoid it as the Bills had 9 sacks and intercepted Howell 4 times.
Defensively the Commanders held their own most of the game until they kept having to go out in the 2nd half after turnovers and try to stop a high powered Bills attack that never seemed to have any trouble doing anything they wanted.
Overall, it was a bad day for everyone including the coaching. We look at everything that went wrong in our Instant Reaction.
Buffalo struggled in their first game of the year losing to an Aaron Rogers-less Jets team but Muki believes that was due to all the hype. Josh Allen proved it by having an amazing 2nd game and earning AFC Offensive Player of the Week.
However, Muki understands Washington has the best defensive line in the league and it will be tough for the Bills to run, especially if it’s going to be a rain-soaked field as expected.
Muki also talked about how much respect he has for Commanders Offensive Coordinator Eric Bieniemy and how EB seems to be playing mind games when he had high praise for Bills linebacker Shane Milano.
So much more in this game preview. Let’s gooooooo!
Daron Payne (ankle) was a full participant in practice today and will play on Sunday. Logan Thomas (concussion protocol) was on the side field but did not practice and has been ruled out for the Buffalo game. Kam Curl and Curtis Samuel both had flu-like symptoms but are expected to be ready. The Bills did not have any player with an injury designation at practice today. They will be at full health on Sunday.
Minority owner Mark Ein interacted with fans on Twitter and said he would bring up one person’s request to the ownership group. The request is to once again have team rallies in the cities in which the Commanders play on the road. A refreshing change around here!
The question of the day at Commanders Park is how you like your chicken. Wings, drums or flats. The boys weighed in!
Daron Payne is practicing through an injury. Eric Bieniemy praises Buffalo Bills linebacker and gives Sam Howell ownership on offense. Chase Young is back to being an elite pass rusher according to PFF stats. This and more on your Daily Commanders Update for 21 September.
