Ref the District

Even when the Washington Commanders are smack dab in the middle of the offseason, there's never any shortage of news to talk about.  Last week Commanders beat reporter for ESPN John Keim wrote the Commanders checked into the availability of retired Colts QB Andrew Luck.  Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk picked up on it and wrote a story.  That caused Colts owner Jim Irsay to pop off on Twitter to not only say that would be a tampering violation, but that his team has asked the league to investigate the possibility.

In addition, veteran Center Chase Roullier was released with a post June 1st designation.  This means his salary will stay on the books until June 2nd.  Chase was the team's starting Center since 2017 but was limited to 10 games the last 2 season due to injuries.  That has us wondering who might be next.  Is Logan Thomas a candidate to be cut?  What about Andrew Norwell, Kendall Fuller or even Charles Leno?  We'll dive into the possibilties of those players and if those cuts would make sense.

Finally, two rankings came up that had us buzzing.  First was the ranking by Mike Clay of ESPN who has the Commanders with the 11th best WR room.  Mike also came out with a QB room ranking.  He placed the Washington Commanders at 32.  The disrespect!

We'll talk about that and so much more on Episode 120 of Ref The District!

We take a deep dive into each of the Washington Commanders draft picks in 2023.  It was a very unsexy draft but filled plenty of holes.  Did they get better?  Are you happy with the draft?  Here are the picks:

Round 1, Pick 16: Emmanuel Forbes (CB, Mississippi State)
Round 2, Pick 47: Quan Martin (DB, Illinois)
Round 3, Pick 97: Ricky Stromberg (IOL, Arkansas)
Round 4, Pick 118: Braeden Daniels (OL, Utah)
Round 5, Pick: 137: KJ Henry (EDGE, Clemson)
Round 6, Pick 193: Chris Rodriguez Jr. (RB, Kentucky)
Round 7, Pick 233: Andre Jones (EDGE, Louisiana)

What are your grades?  We'll also look into all the undrafted free agents they signed and if any of them have a chance to make the roster.

And what about linebacker?  This team refuses to invest in linebackers!

All of this and so much more on Episode 119 of Ref The District!

The draft is almost here!  With only 1 day until the NFL draft begins, we bring you the preeminent Washington Commanders draft guru, Logan Paulsen.  Logan played 8 years in the NFL including 5 with Washington.  He now breaks down film with Ron Rivera and goes deep into draft prospects.

What will Washington do with the 16th pick?  Will they take a Cornerback just as most people predict?  What about Offensive Line? Or will they surprise us and got with another position like TE or RB

We'll talk about all that plus get Nathan's final mock draft before the actual draft on Episode 118 of Ref The District!

With just over 1 week away until the NFL draft, it's time to get down to the nitty gritty over what the Commanders should do and which players they should consider.
So we're bringing in a couple of experts.  First, Ryan Fowler from The Draft Network will join us to get specific breakdowns of all the prospects the Commanders might draft.  We then will bring in one of your favorite Commanders content creators, Rio Robinson to play the role of co-GM with Stoner to see what Washington should do in the draft.  Should be a great show!
Of course we can't go without talking about the latest on the sale of the team and to also check in to see how Day 1 of the OTA's went.

All of that and so much more on Episode 117 of Ref The District!
