Ref the District

The Commanders have won 3 in a row.  Their confidence is riding high.  All of a sudden they are sitting pretty for a wild card berth right about half way through the season.

But is it real?  Is the style of winning sustainable?  We'll certainly find out against a high powered offense and the Minnesota Vikings.

Kirk Cousins comes back to FedEx Field for the first time since he left as a free agent.  It is the first black out game of the year.  How will he be received?  How will the FedEx crowd look while the team is riding this winning streak?

Chase Young begins practice this week for the first time in almost a year since he tore his ACL. How does the impact of trading William Jackson III affect the psyche of the team?

We'll have all that plus of course we'll break down the matchup and give our game predictions on Episode 93 of Ref The District!

In what was trending towards a disappointing loss in Indianapolis, Taylor Heinicke hit Terry McLaurin with a 33 yard pass with 22 seconds left and Heinicke snuck in from the 1 on the next play to give the Commanders a 17-16 win over the Colts and reach 500 for the season at 4-4

Was this a good win?  Is there such thing as a bad win? Who were the big players in this win?  Is Terry McLaurin HIM?

It's funny how the NFL changes week to week.  It wasn't that long ago when everyone wanted the coaches fired and people were giving up their fandom.  Now after a 2 game winning streak hope has been restored to the season.

This week's opponent, the Indianapolis Colts seem to be in full tank mode even though they're only a half game out of the lead in their division.  Head coach Frank Reich announced that Matt Ryan has a bad shoulder and is being replaced  by Sam Ehlinger.  However, Reich said this change does not have anything to do with the injury and that it will be permanent.

Now Taylor Heinicke has a chance to lead the Commanders to a 3rd consecutive win and has renewed hopes for Commanders fan everywhere.  Can the defense shut down Jonathan Taylor.  Can they make a rookie quarterback look like a rookie?

We break down all of this and much more.  Plus, we have a HUGE show announcement in the Cool Down of Episode 92 of Ref The District.

The Washington Commanders have done what nobody thought they could.  They beat Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers at FedEx Field for their first back to back wins of the year.  Final score was 23-21

Taylor Heinicke started rough but after settling in had a very good 2nd half and ended up throwing 2 touchdown passes, one each to Antonio Gibson and Terry McLaurin.  The defense was stellar only allowing 14 points against while forcing Green Bay to go 0-6 on 3rd down.

So we get to celebrate for the 2nd week in a row in this week's Day After Reckoning!  Our guest is Lynell Willingham, host of Burgundy and Gold Today on TheTeam980 & host of Burgundy and Gold Gameday Live on 106.7 The Fan.

So much is swirling around this team even after a 12-7 victory over the Chicago Bears on Thursday night football.  Carson Wentz has a broken finger and could miss up to 6 weeks.  So the team must now put their faith in Taylor Heinicke.  Is that the right decision?  Should they instead go with Sam Howell?

Then as the owners were meeting in New York, Indianapolis Colts owner inferred the owners would have 24 votes to oust Dan Snyder as owner and that there's growing sentiment a vote could be in their future.  Is that just a pipe dream?

On the field, is Jahan Dotson ready to return?  How about Logan Thomas?  And what's going on with Chase Young?

All of those points will be discussed on Episode 91 of Ref The District.
