We sit down with Kirti Gupta, the Vice President of Economic Strategy and the Chief Economist at Qualcomm, the world's leading wireless tech innovator. With over 20 years of Fortune 500 industry experience, Kirti collaborates with various business units internally, and a global network of experts, economists, and policymakers externally.

Kirti shares what it was like for her as a twenty-something-year-old and regardless of fear how she followed her dreams by moving to the United States alone to work for one of the world's leading tech companies. Kirti gets real with us on how she successfully climbed the "ladder" as a woman and a minority. We learn how Kirti reframed "climbing the ladder" into something that worked for her. Kirti also shares how she vocalized her passions to her company which lead her to create a NEW role that would forever be implemented in the tech world. We also discuss the importance and interchangeability of "self-work" in both your personal and professional life. You'll leave this episode knowing how to listen to your passions, vocalize this to your teammates, and understand the power of slowing down to speed up.

RAISE YOUR HAND: Run with opportunities and take on projects that pique your interest. Raise your hand, vocalize, and always advocate for what you’re passionate about.

BUILD YOUR PERSONAL BRAND: Differentiate yourself within a company. We are all entrepreneurs and we all have personal brands regardless of being in corporate America.

Don’t worry about taking steps back (taking the detour). In the long run, you must slow down to speed up.

ALONE TIME WITH ZERO DISTRACTIONS: Each day, prioritize an early & unplugged morning walk in nature, meditation, mindful movement, or journaling. The more you incorporate alone time, the more you’ll be able to hear your inner voice and understand what he or she is telling you.

BUILD & PRIORITIZE YOUR LIFE “BOARD OF DIRECTORS:” This is a group of at least five people you trust the most, who believe in you and vice versa.

These stakeholders should be people outside your work, people who will stand behind you regardless. People who will help make your dreams a reality. Remember, it takes a village. You are not on this journey alone. <3
