  • 154. When to Let It Go

We all have held on to conflicts, resentments, arguments, grudges, and anger. The decision of whether to bring up and try to resolve a conflict is a tricky one. When is the right time? How should you do it? What if your partner is not open to talk about it? Is it healthy to just let it go and move on? And if you decide to let go of a conflict, what do you do instead?

In this episode I have a conversation with my wife, Yvonne Rainbow Teplitsky. She is the founder of Artsy Goddess Studio, where she actively carries out her role in helping others and the planet heal. Rainbow is passionate about art, as seen in the upcycled clothing she creates from second-hand materials, as well as the visual arts she creates, such as murals, paintings, and tapestries. Yvonne also helps women transform through voice empowering workshops and helps couples through workshops and retreats that she co-facilitates with me.

"Pretending to let it go is just another form of avoidance"

  • 153. Control Issues

Have you ever felt controlled in your relationship? Or have you been accused of being controlling? Do you think you know the best way to do to do things? At the root of most relationship control issues is fear: fear of rejection, fear of being wrong, fear of vulnerability, fear of abandonment, fear of things going wrong. Also, anxiety is widely considered to be the underlying common denominator of a strong need to exert control.

In this episode, I have a conversation with Cathy Courtenay. Cathy is a relational coach and facilitator. She works with both couples and individuals who are striving to find deeper connection and intimacy both with themselves and each other. She helps her clients to see the patterns of relating that are holding them back from what they truly desire. Cathy also facilitates the practice of the Circling Method where she creates a safe space for people where they can stand in their truth and experience what is real for them. Responding to life's call to find truth, Cathy is committed to a mission of helping uplift humanity and develop profound compassion and empathy in the world.

"Are you communicating to control and manage or are you communicating to relate?"

  • 152. Listeners' Q & A: Feeling Heard

Have you ever felt not heard or seen by your partner or others? Like the times you believe you are clearly communicating something but the other person does not acknowledge what you are saying, doesn't understand you, or for that matter disregards you and your wants and needs. Or what about when you hold back your truth or something you need because you are concerned of hurting the other person. And, perhaps you've tried everything to not hurt them but to no avail.

In this episode, I answer a few questions from you my listeners. Thank You!

  • 151. HeartShare: Healthy Masculinity

This world is desperately in need of healthy masculinity and all men owe it to themselves to do the work to bring that into fruition. One way is for men to be honest with themselves about their own feelings, needs and desires and to be able to communicate this in connecting and accountable ways. This is a daily practice, one that will lead to intentional self-growth and commitment to change and therefore a pathway to more enriching and healthier relationships.

In this solocast, I talk about some of my views on where we need to focus and cultivate how to walk in this world in more ways to manifest this healthy masculinity.

Feeling Like A Fraud? Understanding The Imposter Syndrome.

"I feel like a fake". "I must not fail". "I just got lucky". "I hope nobody ever finds out who I really am". If this is some of your inner dialogue, you may be experiencing the phenomenon, "The Imposter Syndrome". Don't worry you are not alone. Studies show that an estimated 70% of people experience these impostor feelings at some point in their lives.

In this episode I have a conversation with a returning guest, a colleague and good friend, Angela Porter LMFT, CMT. and we explore the concept of Imposter Syndrome as we discuss the need to accept ourselves our humanness and the deep work of embracing our unique selves.

Aftermath of a Fight or Regrettable Incident

Most people do not have a good way to process the conflicts and fights after the fact. Typical attempts not only fall flight but most of the time spiral right back into the unproductive and disconnecting experience instead of healing and connecting ways.

In this episode my wife Yvonne Rainbow and I explore ways we have and do handle the aftermath of fights or conflicts we experience. We also discuss the modeling that each of us have experienced in our own families of origin to understand some of our templates that we've brought to our relationship and needed to transform.

Yvonne Rainbow Teplitsky is the founder of Artsy Goddess Studio, where she actively carries out her role in helping others and the planet heal. Yvonne is passionate about art, as seen in the upcycled clothing she creates from second-hand materials, as well as the visual arts she creates, such as murals, paintings, and tapestries. • 148. HeartShare: Prioritizing Everyday Transitions in Your Relationships

In this solocast I talk about the importance of everyday transitions. We have so many of them throughout our day; waking up, leaving the house, coming home, going to sleep, etc. How do you interact with your loved ones during these moments? When we prioritize "showing up" and being present, our connection in those moments feed not only the energy of our interactions but the level of intimacy of our relationships.

    Love Addiction

Moe Bruce is passionate about investing in deep and meaningful connections and intimacy, engaging with others, building relationships, and being present in the moment. For 20 years, she has been a coach and consultant for CEOs and global leaders in large and small international organizations and has built profound connections with strangers throughout America and Europe. She's always had a deep curiosity about how people live their lives as well as what she can learn from them.

In this episode Moe and I discuss "Love Addiction." Love can be thrilling, but it can also be hazardous. When love becomes an obsession and all consuming, mixed with drama and dysfunction, people can experience a sense of losing themselves to another or the ideal of another. The cycles of alternating ecstasy and despair, and desperate longing after love loss, can lead to a spiraling of hardships and ruin. Moe shares her story of how she identified that she had/has a love addiction as well as some of her personal experiences with Sex and Love Addiction Anonymous (SLAA), a 12-step recovery process.

"Not all codependents are love addicts, but all love addicts are codependent."

HeartShare: The Art of Being Alone With Yourself To Better Your Relationships

In this solocast I talk about the importance of being comfortable with our own company. This is the place we find ourselves remembering what it's like to be the person we truly are. In being alone we become the witness as well as the gatekeeper of our thoughts and feelings and by doing that get in touch with our inner feelings. If we are good at knowing our inner world, we become better at expressing ourselves to others and our relationships become more authentic.

By learning to dwell in our body and our senses, we cultivate a more comfortableness in being authentic when we are in the presence of others. And, I also talk about the difference of being alone and being lonely.

  • 145. Breakups and Divorce: Endings Are As Important As Beginnings

In this episode I have a conversation with divorce attorney Jim Siemens. Most people don't do the endings of a relationship well. They usually leave a legacy of hurt and damage instead of one of healing and inspiration. We discuss the importance of ending a relationship or marriage in a healing manner. There are many lessons in endings. Your lessons come through the choices you make, and your choices create your character.

Jim is a divorce lawyer and life coach in Asheville, N.C. He has extensive experience as a trial lawyer, mediator, and negotiator in family law cases. Jim accepts family law cases throughout Western North Carolina. Jim accepts coaching clients throughout the US and Canada.
