It can be difficult to be in a relationship if you don't have a great deal of self-love. Remember that self-love is important for enjoying a happy, healthy, and respectful relationship. When you are secure, confident, and feeling good about yourself you feed positive energy into the space between you. One's relationship with oneself is crucial to proper development.
In this episode, I have a conversation with Cathy Courtenay. Cathy is a relational coach and facilitator. She works with both couples and individuals who are striving to find deeper connection and intimacy both with themselves and each other. She helps her clients to see the patterns of relating that are holding them back from what they truly desire. Cathy also facilitates the practice of the Circling Method where she creates a safe space for people where they can stand in their truth and experience what is real for them. Responding to life's call to find truth, Cathy is committed to a mission of helping uplift humanity and develop profound compassion and empathy in the world.
"The relationship with myself determines everything."

Agreeing to disagreeing may be essential in our relationships. We also need to know to how to work effective compromises when we differ. Getting away from the negative mindset of "right" and "wrong" is essential. Disagreeing in fact is beneficial in healthy relationships if done correctly. Disagreeing can provide an opportunity to address issues, get insights and understandings and most of all can strengthen intimacy.
In this episode I have a conversation with my wife, Yvonne Rainbow Teplitsky. She is the founder of Artsy Goddess Studio, where she actively carries out her role in helping others and the planet heal. Yvonne also helps women transform through voice empowering workshops and helps couples through workshops and retreats that she co-facilitates with me.

In this solocast I talk about some red flags to be aware of in your relationships. Not every red flag a sign that the relationship won't work, but understanding your non-negotiable one will help you to understand whether to stick around or not. So it is important to understand the difference workable differences and non- negotiables. Recognizing our own relationship patterns is key. Do you find yourself repeating the same old patterns or attracting the same kinds of people? Does this person communicate effectively and display emotional awareness and intelligence...and for that mtter do you?
"Knowing yourself is key. If you don't deeply know yourself, how the heck are you going to deeply know another person" - Pripo Teplitsky

Many people don't realize but colors can have an effect on our moods, emotions and therefore on our relationships. Color is an immediate form of non-verbal communication. Color association is also dependent on people's innate feelings and experiences, and can have subconscious effects on their decision making as well having influence on how people relate to one another.

In this solocast I talk about the importance of your thoughts and how they create the reality of your relationships. The way we think about our relationship and our partner matters. When we start to have judgmental and critical thoughts of our partners we tend to "see" more of this behavior which solidify these beliefs. We need to look at our partners from a different "lens", one of more positive and appreciative beliefs and thoughts. It is a choice and a habit. How we think about our relationship and our partners is a direct correlation of the reality of what the relationship will be.
"You have a choice on what you allow in to your perception and you have a choice of what you project out...choose wisely" - Pripo Teplitsky

In this episode, Corey and I have a conversation about Adult tantrums, especial mantrums (male tantrums). We have uncontrolled outburst and expressions of anger. Adult temper tantrums can be sometimes be used as a mechanism to manipulate others, cover up fear, shame or guilt with anger or get attention, as well divert attention from another issue.
"adult tantrums usual show up as a disproportionate expression of anger to the circumstance " - Corey Costanzo

In this episode I have a conversation with Becky Boisvert. An inveterate adventurer, Becky (she/her) has grown to see life itself as the adventure. When that adventure beckoned the transition out of her marriage, Becky created a process to help guide her and her former spouse, Sanne, through the terrain of separation and eventual divorce. Many who get to know Becky and Sanne are deeply inspired by the ease and consciousness with which they engaged this process.
Since then, Becky has begun coaching individuals and couples through threshold experiences in life like the lead-in to marriage, divorce, health crises, and more, as well as holding mediations for more deeply embedded conflict. Becky is deeply devoted to supporting herself and others in transforming the grit and hardships in life into opportunities for healing.

The public health crisis of addiction and overdoses continue to rise. Fentanyl poisoning now ranks No.1 on the biggest list of killers of 18-45 yr. olds in the United States, for the last three years by a wide margin. Destigmatizing mental illness and addiction is crucial to empower those suffering to reach out for help. Many people do not understand and also fail to educate themselves on the importance of mental health and due to stereotypes and misrepresentations, some people do not understand that addiction is a disease and believe that people may even choose addiction. Much of the stigma comes not only from friends, family, the public, and the judicial system, but many believe that it is a moral character flaw and fail to see people struggling with addiction through the lens of integrity of individuals as whole human beings.
In this episode I have a conversation with my next-door neighbors Eileen and Barry Cook whose daughter Catie died recently at the age of 31 of fentanyl poisoning after struggling with addiction for over 15 years. We talk about their journey as a family and a couple in navigating the rough waters of emotion and how they had different ways of coping and addressing their daughter's addiction and ultimately the respect and compassion that grew in their hearts.
"Your journey is your journey and it's okay to feel your feelings"

What does it mean to have your partner's back? The feeling of emotional safety and the knowing that you can rely on your partner in many ways, especially at time of stress, overwhelm and crises is a cornerstone to this support and safety. Relieving each other's "load" and lending support is a hallmark of healthy dependence. Emotional safety is also taken away and eroded when partners don't have each other's back.
