iPhone 12 leaks… we need to talk! But first, lower your monthly phone bill and get a $25 credit at https://rene.ting.com

Look, there have always been my phone leaks. Even before there was an iPhone to leak. Like an iPod with a rotary dial leaks. And then there were phones left in bars and on servers… But, every year it just got earlier and more. In 2020, this just rancid trash fire of a year… iPhone 12 leaks have been every bit as much of a trash fire.

And now I have to try and Tier List this stuff, like Tier Zoo, like Charlie with raid boss Karens, just to try and help you all sort the signal from the noise.

But that’s the job, so let’s do this.

Apple Event — Wait… what?! Go to https://www.brilliant.org/reneritchie and sign up for FREE. First 200 also get 20% the annual Brilliant subscription!

The Apple calendar says the September 15 event is going to be 2 hours. How can Apple have a 2-hour event and only talk about the Apple Watch and iPad Air? That’s like 10 mins of event at best!

How can Apple have a September event and not include the iPhone? It’s a September event! Just because leakers say it doesn’t make it true!

How can they release the Apple Watch before the iPhone when they’ve always released them together before?

How can Apple announced an A13 iPad Air when the iPad Pro is still on A12Z? How can they have a faster Air than Pro?

All this and more!

The website is live. The YouTube stream is prepped. The invitations, virtual as they may be, have gone out.

That’s right. This is not a drill. This is. Finally. For really real.

Apple’s September Event has been set. For next week. Yeah.

But… there may not be an iPhone 12 anywhere at the event…

Wait, what?!

iPhone 12 Rumors Explained! Go to https://www.brilliant.org/reneritchie and sign up for FREE. First 200 also get 20% the annual Brilliant subscription!

There are iPhone 12 leaks and rumors and then there are iPhone 12 leaks and rumors. You know what I’m talking about — not the fun ones that get everyone talking but the controversial ones that get everyone hot taking.

And with so many, so hot takes being hot-taken right now, especially on 5G, 120Hz refresh rates, and whether or not there will be EarPods and chargers in the box, I figured it was worth diving into them to find out what’s real, what’s sensational, and what’s… kinda both.

Last video I opened up the latest Apple product rumors and just started talking. But there was a problem… I skipped the Apple Silicon Mac rumors.

That’s everything the China Times had to say about a new Apple Silicon 12-inch MacBook and the GPU coming to the Apple Silicon iMac.

Same deal. I didn’t read anything in advance. I just opened up the report, started reading, and recording my honest reactions.

Here they are!

Apple vs. Anti-Trust! Get CuriosityStream AND Nebula for less than $15/y (26% off!) https://curiositystream.com/reneritchie

Apple’s App Store is under attack. They’re being sued by Spotify in the EU and Epic in the US. Some developers, big and small, are beyond salty over a host of gripes, new and institutional, real and imagined. Gamers are pissed over the lack of Xbox streaming. And regulators have them in their sights as well, breaking out all the old favorites: Monopoly abuse. Anti-competitiveness. Anti-trust. And they… well, they don’t operate with lasers. They operate with hammers. Giant, Götterdämmerung, Mjölnir-like hammers.

So, what can Apple do? More to the point, what should Apple do? In this video I’m going to go over what’s most commonly being suggested, from side-loading and alternate app stores to cutting the 30% and offering alternate payment options. As well as all the positives, the negatives, the risks, the rewards, and how all of it could affect you. And I’m going to do it right now.

I opened Reddit’s /r/Apple subreddit, I scrolled down the hottest topics, I opened the hottest replies, and I reacted. No script. No warning. Just my live-to-video thoughts on Steve Jobs addressing Apple vs. Epic… 10 years ago, Facebook vs. Apple on online events and tracker blocking, PUBG being promoted on the App Store as the legal battle escalates, and Jon Prosser’s latest reports on 120Hz for the rumored iPhone 12 Pro.

Apple Silicon Mac… mini! https://www.brilliant.org/reneritchie and sign up for FREE. First 200 also get 20% the annual Brilliant subscription!

The Mac mini isn’t as popular as any of the MacBooks or even the iMac. But… it’s just… beloved. BelovED even. By every hobbyist and nerd and newcomer and cross-compiler. By anyone who wants anything from the cheapest Mac to just the last Mac server standing.

But the really big question for the mightiest of mini Macs is this — Just how much mightier… or mini-er, even… could Apple Silicon really make it?

From SoC to expandability, size to price, ports to clusters, I’m going go over all of it for you, and I’m going to do it right now.
