Apple’s got a brand new iPhone SE and it starts at just $399. I’ve already compared it to the iPhone XR and iPhone 11, because I figured that’s what most potential customers would do. But, a bunch of you asked me to also put the iPhone SE head-to-head against the iPhone 8. Either because you’re considering the upgrade or you’re wondering if getting a discounted iPhone 8 from a carrier or big box store may be an even better deal than a new iPhone SE. And price isn’t always the same as value. So, let’s break it all down! SPONSOR: Brilliant Go to brilliant.org/reneritchie and sign up for free. Apple just released the new iPhone SE. It’s based on the 4.7-inch iPhone 8 platform, home button, Touch ID, and all. And, while that’s fine for many people… for others… not so much. See, some really, really want a return of the original, iconic 4-inch iPhone SE design. The one that not only fit into every pocket, pack, and hand, but disappeared into it. Others, a 5.5-inch Plus-sized model that’ll give them the high-end specs, keep the low-end price, but just stretch things out a little closer to tiny tablet territory. So, will we ever see them? Would they even make sense with today’s components, in today’s market? SPONSOR: Brilliant Go to brilliant.org/reneritchie and sign up for free. 5 years ago today, I was standing with Jim Dalrymple of the Loop at the Palo Alto Apple Store when the Apple Watch first went on sale. There was a crowd of people at the door, lined up for hours and around the block. Most of them had seen the original announcement the September before, when Tim Cook had taken the stage at the historic Flint Center in Cupertino, for his first big One More Thing. And again, in March of 2015, at the Yerba Buena center in San Francisco. Many had even come to the try-ons, where they could see the different casing and band collections. When it opened, Jim and I watched everyone…. Watching the watches. Until Tim Cook appeared and asked us which Watch bands were our favorites. Yeah, this is going to be different kind of video. Because I really like the Apple Watch. It has flaws and limitations, I know. I’ve spent the better part of the last five years and countless reviews pointing them. But, it’s also the absolute most important device Apple’s has ever made. Here’s how. And why. SPONSOR: Brilliant Go to brilliant.org/reneritchie and sign up for free. Apple has a brand new iPhone for 2020. A $399 U.S. brand new iPhone SE, which is the least expensive we’ve seen since… well, since the original iPhone SE back in 2016. Like the original, it features a classic design, including the Home button and Touch ID, leveled up with the latest, greatest chipset, and what Apple claims is their best single camera system ever. Its the retro-future of iPhones, but should it be YOUR next iPhone? SPONSOR: Brilliant Go to brilliant.org/reneritchie and sign up for free. Apple’s got a brand new iPhone SE and it starts at just $399. That’s way less than any of the current flagships, including the iPhone 11 at $699, and even the previous generation iPhone XR at $599. But, as anyone who watches this channel knows, price isn’t the same as value. So, if you really do need to buy a new iPhone right now, now, now, which new iPhone will be the best value for YOU? The new iPhone SE is here. That’s right. Not iPhone 9. Just iPhone SE, the second generation. New and improved for 2020. It’s replacing the iPhone 8 in Apple’s lineup, though not completely the iPhone 8 Plus yet. And I’m not just going to tell you what it is. I’m going to tell you why it is and, most importantly, who it’s for. Even and especially if that’s not you or… even me. New iPhones are cool. The iPhone 9 SE is cool, the upcoming iPhone 12: Cool. But sometimes it’s what comes with new iPhones that ends up being really cool. Like the iPhone 7 and AirPods. And… I think it’s about to happen again. With AirTags.
