Our hips and lower back hold the energetic tension between flexibility and stability, expansion and support. This restorative yoga practice invites you to explore the deeper psycho-spiritual meaning of these areas through somatic experiencing and Internal Family Systems (IFS), offering space to gently unwind patterns of control, tension, and holding. By settling into long-held, supported postures, we create an opportunity to notice where we grip, where we soften, and where we can invite more fluidity, creativity, and trust in the body's wisdom. Rather than focusing on stored emotions or trauma, this class embraces the hips as a center of life force energy, adaptability, and creative flow, while the lower back reminds us of the balance between personal strength and the need for external support.
Through guided awareness and intentional pauses, you will have space to listen to the quieter parts of yourself—the parts that strive to hold everything together and the parts that long to release. With a nervous system-informed approach, this practice encourages small, sustainable shifts in how we meet resistance, how we recover, and how we expand our capacity to move through life with greater ease. Whether you’re feeling physically tight or energetically overwhelmed, this class is an invitation to trust your body's natural rhythm, find grounding amidst change, and cultivate a deep sense of spaciousness within.
