In this episode, I talk with Mark Hilinski, the father of the late Tyler Hilinski.
Tyler tragically died of suicide at the age of 21. He was the starting quarterback at Washington State University.
There were no signs that Tyler was struggling. He grew up a happy kid with two brothers and a sparkling football career.
Following his passing, the Hilinski family created the Hilinski's Hope Foundation aimed at promoting awareness and education of mental health and wellness for student athletes.
The Foundation’s mission is to educate, advocate, and remove the stigma associated with mental illness, while funding programs that provide student-athletes with the tools and resources that support their mental health and wellness.
