Auditioning can be a nightmare scenario for many performers but here are seven things you can do to reduce the stress and smash it out of the park!
It's not always what you do that can help you improve your voice. Sometimes it's what you should stop doing! In order to learn how to have a better voice and speak clearly for speaking in public. These tips offer insights that you may not have considered for your voice before.
As a firm believer in the power of perception and self-help, I feel that motivational videos can be a bit of a joke at times and they are only there to rinse us of time and energy that would be better put back into self-realization and seeking actual assistance with our issues.
No disrespect is meant toward the people who give the motivational talks, as I know they mean well. It's the compilations that feed off our emotions that I have a gripe against.
This is how I see them!
It's time I spoke my truth on motivational videos.
If you get up every morning and can't perform or get started without listening to one of these well crafted and addictive rants on how to succeed then you are looking in all the wrong places.
It may make you feel good but only helps in the short term. If you seek outside help to motivate you and can't do it for yourself then you are in need of inspiration, not motivation.
The fear that some feel and others don't is just a different perception of the same experience. If you perceive yourself to be less than you are, believing that you're "not good enough", so keep telling yourself, "I can't do this", "what if they don't like me", "what if I forget what I'm saying" "what if I trip over or faint", "what if they laugh?", then your body and subconscious mind will seek to actualize that reality for you. It will sabotage your conscious hopes to do a thing well because it is running on a contradictory belief.
Mankind is full of prejudice. Socially accepted and projected archetypes and stereotypes lead us to judge and discriminate others, without our conscious knowledge, and likewise leads others to do the same to us.
If we recognise how we outwardly appear and traits that we may (unknowingly) carry around with us, then we may also be able to neutralise the story we tell with our bodies.
Likewise by learning to acknowledge that our subconscious mind has a tendency to pigeonhole others who's actions affect us (without obvious reason) we can open up a new perception of the world, ourselves and use this to control our emotions, phobias and biased opinions of the world around us.
Enjoy
