  • S2E5 - Ioana Rotaru on relationships, perfectionism and trauma

In this episode we are talking to therapist Ioana who works with her clients on building fulfilling relationships through healing their relational and childhood trauma.

We dive into defining what trauma actually is but also how developing some of our coping mechanisms such as people pleasing, perfectionism connect with out attachment styles. We also talk about some of the social narratives that women are encouraged to live by which in reality are way more damaging than helpful. One of the main questions we address is whether women can have it all or whether it's just a fake promise that's causing a much deeper wound.

  • Authentic living

    Authenticity.

    Being yourself.
Is something we all strive for but it is also something we are most afraid of.
being rejected for who we are.
Of being disliked for who we are.
So we become a smaller version of ourselves.
We suppress. Hide. Keep quiet. Filter.
All out of fear. We become a false, inauthentic self.
But what is the cost… Of living inauthentically?
How can we let go of the fear or rejection, break free from inauthenticity, return to ourselves and start living as our authentic self?

Tune in to hear more about how can lack of authenticity be linked to loneliness and depression and how navigate through it better.

  • Life As a Woman: Being More Than a Body
In this podcast episode we talk about self-objectification.
An activity that as women we spend a crazy amount of time doing without realising it is actually a thing. It for so many of us is just “normal”.
Self-objectification is when we leave living in our body and instead enter a state of surveying our body as an object to be looked at as you go about life.
We will cover the roots of self-objectification, the consequences and how to start reducing the amount of time you spend in this state so you can return to yourself, have more headspace and feel happier in your body.
