Call your hetero-life mate, this week we hit the road with JAY AND SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK, Kevin Smith's raunchy comedy which was originally supposed to be the coda to his 'View Askewniverse'. You remember that, with the clerks and the mall and the lesbians who for some reason want to sleep with Ben Affleck. Now with Kevin Smith getting the gang back together for 'JAY AND SILENT BOB REBOOT', we ask— how do Jay & Silent Bob hold up today?

This week we celebrate an Oscar-winner by showcasing one of the seminal films in their œuvre, and that is Peter Farrelly's DUMB AND DUMBER. A tender, stirring emotional epic starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, this glimpses into the lives of two, uh, idiots, as they transverse the country guided only by their wits and desire. This film moved us with its depiction of flatulence lit aflame, but how might we view it in a contemporary context? Knockers.

Gee gosh, this week we turn up the goof with A GOOFY MOVIE, the 1995 Disney animated comedy starring uh... Goofy, along with Max Goof, some other Goofs and Paulie Shore. The perfect cast! This movie overlaid the classic zaniness of early Disney animation with the crushing guilt of knowing you're a terrible son and not calling your folks enough. We loved this movie when we were younger, but how does it hold up now that we're a bunch of old goofs?

This week we're stuck in detention with THE BREAKFAST CLUB, John Hughes' classic teen comedy starring Molly Ringwald, Judd Hirsch and Antthony Michael Hall! Bryde MacLean of the Turn Me On podcast joins us to talk about archetypes, crushes who look like Emilio Estevez, rough guys with soft edges and watching this movie way too young. The Breakfast Club defined a generation of teens, but how does it hold up today?

Steal a dress and grab your copy of ABBA Gold, this week we're going down under for MURIEL'S WEDDING, the 1994 Australian comedy starring the wonderful Toni Collette, the amazing Rachel Griffiths and what else do you really need? This little-Aussie-movie-that-could, along with Strictly Ballroom and Priscilla Queen of the Dessert, helped put Australian cinema on the world map (though it should be held accountable for the crime of re-popularizing ABBA with the mushy masses). But how does it hold up today?

We've done the pre-crime, now we do the pre-time with Tom Cruise in MINORITY REPORT! Directed by Steven Spielberg and featuring Colin Ferrell, Emily Morton, Max Von Sydow and Tim Blake Nelson, this sci-fi dystopia looks at a terrifying world where you can't even kill somebody without some weirdos in a bathtub watching you the whole time. How do you defend yourself against a charge for a crime you haven't committed yet? And how does this movie hold up today?

Preggo my eggo, this week we're checking our pee-sticks with JUNO, the 2007 comedy starring Ellen Page as a precocious teenager who gets unexpectedly pregnant! OMG? WTB? IWJSM! Written by Diablo Cody and directed by Jason Reitman, this movie taught us how babies are made, but how does it hold up now?

This week fishes are wishes as we swim with A FISH CALLED WANDA, the 1988 crime comedy written/co-directed/starring/catered by John Cleese (of Monty Python fame) and also featuring Jamie Lee Curtis, Kevin Kline and Michael Palin (no fixed address). It's a story of love, betrayal, diamonds, snogging, those silly wigs British lawyers wear, pets, boots and betrayal (with a healthy dose of double-crossing).

It's the middle of January so we turn up the heat with BACKDRAFT, the 1991 firefighter drama directed by Ron Howard and starring Kurt Russell, Robert Deniro, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Rebecca De Morney, fire and a Baldwin! It's a film that burns with the heat of brotherhood, duty, sacrifice, and also fire!
This movie burned a place into our memories, but how does it hold up now?

The year is 2019. America is in crisis. The media is used to manipulate citizens to the government's will. A rabid, blood-thirsty nation turns to the screen to get its daily dose of pain and suffering. But that has nothing to do with THE RUNNING MAN, the 1987 sci-fi- action flick starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as a man who stands up against tyranny and is forced to play a deadly game for survival.
We loved this movie when we were kids, but how does it hold up in today's dark dystopian present?
