To celebrate the release of John Wick 3: Parabellum, we revisit the original JOHN WICK! Starring Keanu Reeves as a deadly former hitman out to get revenge for the murder of his beloved puppy, this movie came out of nowhere to become one of the most beloved franchises of the decade! Also starring Willem Dafoe, Ian McShane, Michael Nyquist and Alfie Allen, this movie raised the bar for action movies in North America, but how does it hold up today?

We take nothing at face value as we discuss FACE/OFF, the 1997 sci-fi action thriller directed by John Woo and starring John Travolta and Nicholas Cage as a cop and his nemesis who switch their freakin' faces! Also featuring Joan Allen, Gina Gershon and Dominique Swain, this insane premise blew our minds when we were younger and our faces were fresher, but how does it hold up today?

Update your business cards, this week we get a little murder-y with AMERICAN PSYCHO! Directed by Mary Harron and starring Christian Bale, Reese Witherspoon, Jared Leto and Chloe Sevigny, it's the classic tale of somebody with too much money and power deciding they should kill people. Adapted from Bret Easton Ellis's controversial book, the movie American Psycho shocked and entertained us when it came out, but how does it hold up today?

With the launch of Disney+ and the upcoming release of Toy Story 4, we wistfully look back at the original TOY STORY! Starring Tom Hanks as as the drawstring cowboy Woody and Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear, Toy Story is the tale of a couple of toys who have to learn to play nice to get back where they belong. It was the first full length computer animated film and led the way for the rest of Pixar's animated empire as well as the medium in general and quickly became a beloved favorite, but how does it hold up today?

In anticipation of Terry Gilliam's long awaited The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, we revisit 1991's THE FISHER KING, Gilliam's fantasy soaked drama starring Jeff Bridges as a disgraced shock jock who has to find a way to help a man whose tragic circumstances he feels responsible for. Also starring Robin Williams as Parry and featuring Mercedes Ruehl, Amanda Plummer and Michael Jeter, this movie showed us how wonder and magic can be found in a dark and tragic world, but how does it hold up today?

This week we download the url to THE NET, the 1995 web-themed thriller starring Sandra Bullock as an 1337 hacker who uncovers a chilling cyber plot that threatens the information super-highway and loses her identity in the process. Also featuring Jeremy Northam, Dennis Miller and Ray McKinnon, the net dials-up the tension, but does it have the bandwidth not to crash with today's hardware?

This week we go down to the farm with BABE, the 1995 family film starring James Cromwell and a bunch of barnyard animals. It's a heartwarming story about a young pig who learns he can be so much more just by being his kind self. Isn't that nice? Also featuring Christine Cavanaugh and Hugo Weaving, this movie made us feel warm and fuzzy and slightly confused about pork chops, but how does it hold up now?

Gee golly, this week we explore a kinder, simpler world with PLEASANTVILLE, the 1998 comedy starring Reese Witherspoon and Tobey McGuire as two modern teens who are sucked into the TV set (and not in the binging-Russian-Doll-on-Netflix way). Also featuring Joan Allen, Jeff Daniels and Don Knotts, Pleasantville examines the rose-colored glasses of nostalgia and asks us to consider whether the good old days were so good and old after all. Which, of course they were!

This week we exercise our unalienable rights to lyfe and lyberty by watching THE PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS! Starring Will Smith and real-life son Jaden, this film is an inspirational tale about a single father struggling with homelessness while trying to get a foot in the door at an investment firm. Where's your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air now Fresh Prince? Dad blogger and podcast host Casey Palmer joins us as we discuss parenting, celebrity children and the difference between the real and fictional Chris Gardners.
