Jonathan Phelps was born with a rare disease called Osteogenesis Imperfecta. This disease causes his bones to be very brittle, and has fractured 60 plus bones over his young life.. What sounds like a depressing disease has become exactly the opposite! He credits his positive outlook to his parents, who treated him like everyone else at a young age. He learned very quickly that dwelling on the negative only makes things worse. He proudly says he is not defined by Osteogenesis Imperfecta. Jonathan pleads for us to stop playing victim, and make the most of our situations. 

After talking with Salar about being a Muslim, I learned we have far more similarities than differences. Salar's parents migrated from Pakistan to the US and achieved the "American Dream".  They settled in Texas and we learn what it was like to be muslim in the Bible Belt. In a day of so much misinformation, it is nice to hear what Islam is all about right form the source. Thanks Salar! 

Well, we have a lot to be thankful for. This year is the first year I have been able to eat more than just rice and pears. Thanks to some new meds I've been trying from the University of Utah, I have found some relief. I still have some abdominal pain, but today reminded me of Thanksgiving 4 years ago... I was on my own, in a new setting, with new people... Hear how I broke down in tears, and got through it.

Lex Maynez started Sad Boi Thrift in 2019 because he only had 30 dollars to his name and needed money to buy an engagement ring. He tried selling his clothes at a local thrift store and they ripped him off big time! He then tried selling clothes online, and it was a hit! Ever since then, Lex has been sifting through stylish clothes at thrift shops and selling them for a fair price. In addition, he has helped hundreds of college students change from sketchers, cargos, and an Aéropostale shirt to something better. Think vintage, urban outfitters, skater, fresh, and unique. Maybe even sexy... THAT'S Sad Boi Thrift.

A couple years ago, Warren Osborn was officially diagnosed with ALS. His doctor told him to accept death and make the most of what time he has left... Well, if you know Warren, he is not one to go down without a fight! Warren is a serial entrepreneur, and has started several successful businesses. This man knows how to problem solve and make things happen! I asked Warren if he ever gets down. He said, "I don't get depressed, that is not in my nature." He also told me, "YOU CAN CHOOSE TO ROLL OVER AND DIE OR YOU CAN CHOOSE TO FIGHT AND DO ALL YOU CAN."
