Last but most definitely not least this morning, we hear, on the eve of President Trump's birthday, his daughter-in-law -- and now Republican National Committee Co-Chair -- Lara Trump! John and Lara talk about the campaign, her forecast for this fall's election, the criteria for President Trump's selection of a running mate, and the aftermath of the President's trial in New York a couple of weeks ago.
Well, as today is Thursday, we hear -- as we normally do -- from former Virginia Governor and Ambassador to Europe Jim Gilmore. Also as normal, John and Governor Gilmore talk international relations and about the war in Ukraine. Notably: As many of you in the listening fam have requested, John even pointedly asks Governor Gilmore whether his pro-Ukrainian stance is financially motivated. (He unequivocally says that it is not.)
All this week, we will be checking in one last time with all of the Republican candidates vying for the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate. Next up is Scott Parkinson, who discusses his campaign and the issues with John.
(You can learn more about Scott here.)
Next up, in our 7:30 half hour, we check in -- one last time before primary voting ends -- with State Senator John McGuire, who is challenging incumbent Congressman Bob Good for the GOP nomination for the U.S. House of Representatives. As the campaign enters the home stretch, John (Reid) asks Senator McGuire about the race -- and some probing questions about his candidacy and the extent to which he would be committed to serving out a term of office.
Happy "Friday Eve," listening fam! First among John's guests this Thursday morning is Zack Smith, a Senior Legal Fellow at The Heritage Foundation. John and Zack talk about his recent commentary, "Youngkin Takes Protecting VA Kids Seriously."
Finally this AM, and somewhat impromptu, we check in with our good friend, art historian Dr. Ann McLean -- who offers an update about the effort to save the Arlington National Cemetery monument Reconciliation. To help, please call (202) 224-3121 and tell Speaker Johnson that you support saving Reconciliation!
At the bottom of the 8 o'clock hour, we hear from attorney Paul Curley, who is representing VMI alums who have filed a federal lawsuit against the school's designated Alumni Association. Paul tells John about the suit and why the institution's various alums are at odds.
All this week, we will be checking in one last time with all of the Republican candidates vying for the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate. Next up is Jonathan Emord, who discusses his campaign and the issues with John.
(You can learn more about Jonathan here.)
Next up, in the 7:30 half hour, we check back in with former State Senator, attorney, and friend of the show Joe Morrissey -- who chats with John about the verdicts rendered against both Hunter Biden and President Trump. Crucially, Joe explains why he thinks that President Trump's guilty verdicts are all but destined to be reversed on appeal.
Happy Hump Day, listening fam! First up among our guests is attorney, former candidate for State Senate, former Richmond GOP Chairman, and friend of the show Hayden Fisher! John and Hayden discuss Richmond City Council's decision to award itself an 80% pay raise.
