Happy Monday, listening fam! As today is Monday, we check in with our friend, Fox News' Brian Kilmeade. John and Brian talk Veepstakes, the Bidens, and what's coming up on The Brian Kilmeade Show (airing right after Richmond's Morning News).
Finally this Friday (and week), we check in -- as is customary -- with our "Movie Guy," Mike Mayo! Mike talks to John about the European classic Run Lola Run (back in theaters this weekend), as well as the new Guy Ritchie film, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.
Atop the 9 o'clock hour, we hear from Retired Navy Captain, former Navy SEAL, and Virginia Beach resident Rick Woolard -- who helped spearhead the design of the new Monument Park in Normandy, dedicated in conjunction with the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
Next up, in our 8:30 half hour, we hear from Texas Congressman -- and University of Virginia graduate -- Chip Roy. John and Congressman Roy talk about the battle for America's "first principles," at stake in this year's election cycle, as well as the Congressman's endorsement of his colleague, Freedom Caucus Chairman Bob Good -- who is seeking re-election in Virginia's 5th District.
"It's Friday. . . ."(*) This means that Clay Hamner of Lythos Studios is with us, to tell folks what they can do for fun in and around Richmond this weekend.
(*) I didn't play our goofy weekend theme music because new policy dictates that anything I play, I can't post to the "podcast" version of the show. (Efforting to work out some sort of workable compromise!)
Happy (actual) Friday, listening family -- we made it! First among our guests this morning is our good friend, former Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell -- who reminisces about his experience as a federal defendant while talking with John about last week's verdicts against President Trump.
Finally this AM, and because today is Thursday, we hear from our weekly "Friday Eve" guest, former Virginia Governor and Ambassador to Europe Jim Gilmore. John and Governor Gilmore discuss Governor Youngkin's EV mandate rescission, 2024 Republican primaries, and war in Ukraine.
Atop the 8 o'clock hour, we check in with our friend, former State Senator Dr. Siobhan Dunnavant. In the wake of welcoming another grandchild into the world a few days ago, Dr. Dunnavant addresses Anthony Fauci's COVID-related testimony before Congress earlier this week.
In the 7:30 half hour on this Thursday morning, we are honored to welcome to the show the Governor of Virginia -- Glenn Youngkin! John and Governor Youngkin discuss his decision -- with the support of Attorney General Miyares -- to issue a rescission of the Democrats' previously issued EV mandate in Virginia. Additionally, John and Governor Youngkin discuss the 2024 Presidential Campaign and the possibility of a role for him in a second Trump Administration.
Next up, atop the 7 o'clock hour, is President Trump's pollster, John McLaughlin. The Johns discuss polling that is beginning to materialize in the wake of the verdicts against President Trump in New York one week ago today.
