Atop the 8 o'clock hour, John talks to 8NEWS Reporter Dean Mirshahi about ongoing issues/efforts to obtain public records from the City of Richmond.
At the bottom of the 7 o'clock hour, John talks to Ryan Dunn, Executive Director of the Virginia Dental Association. Ryan tells John about the need for more hygienists throughout the Commonwealth and what is happening to try to address the problem/shortage.
To start with this (electronically chaotic!) morning, we talk to our good friend -- and host of the new podcast, The Job Judge -- Karen "I'll be the judge of that!" Michael, also of Karen Michael Consulting. John and Karen discuss (verbose) new policy from the EEOC entitled the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act -- with Karen describing how hard being an employer is today, given government's extensive regulation of the workplace.
Last this morning, John talks to Wawa Virginia Area Manager Chris Adams, who discusses the company's 60th anniversary and plans to celebrate it.
Also given that today is Monday, we check in with the esteemed Jim Bacon, of Bacon's Rebellion, regarding the stories that his website is covering/reporting on. This week, the focus of conversation between John and Jim is Newport News' Richneck Elementary School, where a six-year-old student had shot his teacher early last year.
Atop the 8 o'clock hour this Monday morning, we check back in with former State Senator and criminal attorney Joe Morrissey, who previews President Trump's criminal trial that is set to get underway in New York.
Following reports out of Henrico regarding an alarming increase in suicidal thoughts within student surveys, we check in with Daniel Rigsby, the county's Mental Health Services Director. John asks Daniel about the findings -- and about what steps third parties (parents, teachers, etc.) can take to have a positive influence on troubled teens and adolescents.
Happy Monday, listening family!!! Given that today is Monday, we start off the week by checking in with our friend Brian Kilmeade, of Fox & Friends and The Brian Kilmeade Show. John and Brian discuss Iran's weekend attack on Israel and President Trump's pending criminal trial in New York.
Finally today (and this week!), we check in with our "Movie Guy," Mike Mayo, of Mike-Mayo.com. Mike talks to John about two "oldies but goodies" from the '90s: the New York crime dramas New Jack City (1991) and King of New York (1990).
Continuing our "Women for Trump" series, we hear from former Michigan gubernatorial candidate Tudor Dixon -- who talks to John about the issues important to women/mothers this election year, and about what kind of a person Donald Trump is, based on the friendship that they've cultivated.
