We talk about why building a second brain is really important to your life long learning. Additionally, we offer advice on how to let information actually sink in as well as discuss different learning techniques such as active recall and spaced repetition. We also touch on the fact that work and play are not two opposite things but rather that play and depression are the opposite as expressed by Naval Ravikant. We often hear the words 'Work Hard to Play Hard' which assumes that you can't be doing both at the same time. It's important for us to define what work means to us and where it is within that spectrum.

In today's episode, we introduce you to Andrea Carolina Davila! A third year civil engineering student, with a passion for the environment and sustainable fashion. Andrea has launched her first brand, pure swim, a swimwear brand that recycles nylon from the sea and uses it to create gorgeous timeless pieces that anyone can wear. We discuss the struggles, highs and lows of our degree and what it's been like for Andrea doing online exams from Panama at 4am. Moreover, we dive into the lessons that Andrea has learnt being in a long distance relationship to living with her boyfriend for 6 months during lockdown. Fortunately, this year has brought them so much closer together and it's been wonderful for them both! Andrea takes us on her island hopping journey through San Andres and tells us about her next stops on her wish list.

On today's podcast, Cristina and Monica catch up on their week and talk about Cristina's birthday festivities. They discuss the importance of human connection especially the bonds in friendships and how these have been maintained during the pandemic. Monica explains what her friendships look like post Instagram life and whether she feels disconnected from the world due to her social media absence. Cristina mentions that social media can be a powerful tool to connect with people you don't speak to on an ongoing basis and even reunite you with long distance friends. There are pros and cons to using social media as a means to connect with friends but we believe that making time in your diary to spend undivided quality time with friends whether that's over zoom or over a cup of coffee can really strengthen and deepen those connections with loved ones. Social media can often blur the reality of people's lives by exposing only the highlight reels but through meaningful conversations with friends you not only get a glimpse into their lives but a clearer portrait view.
