There are two sides to every coin.

I found the opportunity in shifting markets is innovation and education.

It's a time to learn, grow and change!

Megan has over 20+ years in homebuilding. She started her career as Project Supervisor out of college with a national homebuilder. She served as a Project Manager for 5 years and then as a Warranty Manager for almost 10 years. Then 3 years ago she founded her company, Southern Magnolia Home Inspections. She specializes in New Home Construction Inspections as well as general resale transactions too!

Megan was the FIRST FEMALE hire into construction out of college for her organization. She truly is a trailblazer of women in the industry. She shares all the things she loved about the work she did and why women are uniquely qualified to be amazing in contstruction!

41% of the construction workforce is set to retire by 2031!

Women only account for 10.9% of homebuilding employees and only 14% of leadership potential.

And the stats for minorities are even less or non-exisitent!

This industry is primed for a shift. It's time to welcome in new demographics to this amazing industry. But it is going to require some work.

Mentors come into your life in many forms and fashions.

Professionally sometimes we are lucky and have a leader/manager that shows up as a mentor in our lives.

But sometimes a mentor is a co-worker who is a little more seasoned than you and takes you under their wing and other times they are someone you've never met but you've read their book, listen to their podcast etc.

In essense of a mentor is simply a trusted advisor. Someone who you learn from and that encourages you actively or passively to level up.

I've been very fortunate to have a handful of incredible mentors throughout my career. Today I want to highlight 4 female mentors that I've been fortunate enough to have in my life and a few powerful lessons they taught me.
