Rock Hard Caucus

We talked to Denver Foote, candidate for Des Moines Mayor, and Bridget Botkin, candidate for Des Moines City Council (Ward 2), about why they're running for office, their vision of what a good local government can do, and how normal they both are.

Hello, Rock Hard Caucus listeners. Before we started this podcast, I used to do a local music radio show on KRUI in Iowa City called iHearIC Radio. That show has been on life support since the beginning of the pandemic, but I've really been itching to breathe new life into the project. In order to motivate myself to do the show more regularly, I need to consolidate. So, iHearIC Radio is now a monthly feature on the Rock Hard Caucus feed. I hope you like it.

For the first episode of this new era of iHearIC Radio, guitarist Dan Padley came over to discuss his own creative path, listen to music from some other local musicians, and most importantly, name some Star Wars planets.

We found out ex-Congressman Steve King has been appearing somewhat regularly on a racist radio show in Tennessee. Our friend Gavin Aronsen is an expert on Steve King, so he's returning to our not-racist podcast to discuss these radio appearances.

The cauc regs (caucus regulars) are busy so I brought in a couple guest host ringers. Alan and Oliver are here for a long discussion of the Davenport building collapse and a shorter look at what the hell is going on with Zach Wahls.
