Our friends over at Hoot 'n' Holler decided to retire a while back, and I noticed that they stopped paying for soundcloud so their back catalog is disappearing. So here's an episode they did with our very own Natalie. Originally released 3/10/2022. Thanks to them for granting us permission to rehost.

Here's how they described it:

------------

Real barnburner y'all. We are joined by Natalie from our sister podcast to the north, Rock Hard Caucus, to talk about municipal politics - the challenges, the wins, the backlash. Plus - Are You Rapture Ready?

You can find Natalie on twitter at @hot4trotsky

We're talking about the heavily propagandized "school choice" euphemism and the state of public education in Iowa. To help us make sense of it, we brought on Cedar Rapids School Board member Dexter Merschbrock.

Some may say that organizing for progressive causes within the structures of the Iowa Democratic Party is a fool's errand. If true, our guest for this episode is that fool! Justin and Evan had a nice talk with Brian McLain, chair of the IDP Progressive Caucus.
