Raising kids in today's world is challenging. More now than ever, the ways of the world are able to enter your home.  Whether it's TV, internet, social media, phones, etc.... One of the significant drawbacks of this is the exposure our kid are getting to a lack of civility.  The disrespect that we are all seeing makes us more and more desensitized and willing to accept.  The end result is a culture more disrespectful and uncivil than we have seen in many years.

Nobody goes into a marriage believing they will divorce.  But, at least 50% of us will end a marriage in divorce, and many more will wonder if divorce should be their solution.

2021 is finally here!  As the new year begins, what kind of things do you want to change or improve for your family?  For the Hutchinson's we are focusing on being around the dinner table more often as a family.  

In this show, Merrill and Linda discuss the value of protecting the dinner table opportunities. Bringing the family together around food is nothing new.  Jesus often used this venue to help his followers.  It seems that the setting allows for people to be more relaxed and willing to share their thoughts.  Every family could benefit from making this a more conscious activity.  As parents, if we want to lean into our kids and show them our values and take advantage of great teaching moments, the dinner table is the perfect time and place.  In 2021, make it a point to bring this practice back into your home!

2020 has been a challenging year for many of us.  Between Covid, elections, job turbulence, and everything else, this year has certainly tested most of us.  What are we to take away from this?  Linda and Merrill discuss the great opportunity that this year has presented for parenting.  In particular parenting in faith and teaching your children about why they need faith.  
During this show, the idea of being lost and wandering from day to day in our confusion is remedied with learning how to have a VISION  for your life.  Your vision comes from having a FAITH in the creator of the universe; GOD!  The VISION comes from having a FAITH in Jesus Christ, who is the provider of the path forward in our daily living.  A path that leads us to the arms of the Father!  
The best gift we can give our kids is to teach them how to live with faith so that they can have the vision to walk hand in hand with their Father.
