How is your marriage doing? All too often we slowly drift into neglecting our marriage. It was not our intention, it just happens. Before you know it we are as cold as ice towards the person we said "I do" to. This is not God's intention for our marriage. He wants nothing but the best for our marriage.
Linda and Merrill take on this subject to discuss how you can have a marriage on fire! Fire, meaning a good thing! Whether you are spending more time together, learning how to speak and listen more intently, or just being more mindful of what your partner needs, it is essential to do the work to keep your marriage HOT!
This show is not just for your marriage, but this is for your entire family. When your marriage is great, your family will be the benefactors of that greatness.

What a big show for Rock Solid Radio this week as they release their 100th episode. For this reason, we really wanted to just be thankful. Thanks to God for blessing us with the parents, family, children, friends, church, communities, and school, just to name a few.
In this show, we take time to talk about the importance of GRATITUDE! This is something that can so easily be overlooked by any of us. It is easy to look at all the negatives in our lives, but keeping our focus on those does very little to bring happiness, peace, and contentment into your life.
Gratitude is an Attitude and that means we have a choice. This is very empowering as we realize that our situation response is up to us. We can choose how we are going to walk through any moment of life. Are you choosing gratitude?

This show is about a relationship, but not a relationship between two people. This is about your relationship with God. As we often work with couples trying to build or repair their human relationships, we see that frequently have to help them set up the relationship. How are they going to spend time together? How are they going to raise children together? How will they resolve life challenges together? It is very important that the two people have an understanding of how they desire to have a relationship and how they are going to take care of that relationship.
Our relationship with God is no different. If we do not make this a relationship it will soon fade and eventually perish. There are so many stumbling blocks that can get in the way of a solid relationship with God. Pride, ignorance, humanistic thinking, etc.... whatever it is, we must identify what we want our relationship with God to look like, and then begin to live it out in that way. If we want a great relationship, we much pour a great amount of attention and love into the relationship in order for us to feel complete. God wants your heart. That is another way of saying, He wants to have a relationship with you. He wants to love you and He wants to be loved by you.

If you didn't listen to Part 1, we ask that you go back and visit that show to bring you up to speed on this subject.
In this show, Linda and Merrill talk about the young adult as they are preparing to leave the nest. This used to be a more clear-cut time in our history. Going to college, military, or getting a job. These are just the things that happened and our young adults found themselves living on their own and making life happen. Today, we see more young adults growing up and staying under their parents' roof for a longer period of time than ever before. Is this good or not?
These are the questions we take on and try to arrive at what we believe are answers that best serve the young adult as well as their parents.

How are you raising your child? Do you have a clear idea of what kind of adult you want them to grow into? It is so easy to get caught up in what your child wants that we often lose sight of what they need.
In today's show, Linda and Merrill talk about getting the right mindset to raising a happy and successful child into an adult. It is not always easy, but it is well worth doing the small things now to help your child grow into their best version of themselves.

Marriage can be tough! Especially when we have two people that are waiting to see when their partner is going to mess up. You may not think this is your marriage, and hopefully, it is not. But the truth is, many of our marriages are consumed with counting rights and wrongs, do's and don'ts, and someone always seems to be "in trouble" in the marriage.
This is not how we are called to be together in marriage. This way of thinking is almost like it comes directly from the Old Testament, The Law! Rules, commandments, laws, while these are important to help guide us in our daily lives, we must be very watchful of not becoming hyper-focused on them. We may find ourselves waiting to see when our spouse is going to mess up next while not focusing on what we can do better in the marriage. We start to find ourselves holding our partner almost as a prisoner trying to pay back the debt for every wrongdoing they've ever made. This is insanity!
We are called to live by grace in our marriage. In this show, Merrill and Linda tackle this subject and try to give help in getting your marriage to be more grace-filled rather than law-driven.
At the end of the day, we must all realize that without the grace provided us by Jesus Christ, we are doomed. Let's do everything we can to keep our marriages from being doomed. Let's cover the marriage with grace!

What are we doing to make sure we are fit in a difficult time? Fit, meaning physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. These are areas that we have a personal responsibility to take care of. Linda and Merrill Hutchinson have the conversation of working through the new normal. Kids are getting ready to try to go back to school and COVID -19 is still on the rise. What will this school year look like? What are we to do as parents? How can we help our kids succeed in this environment? Staying physically healthy is a primary concern, but restricting our kids to staying locked in the house is no way to keep them healthy emotionally, mentally, or spiritually.
During this show, Linda and Merrill take a serious look at how they plan to help their kids succeed during this season of COVID. In a given moment of time, we will never have all the answers. Yes, we risk making a decision today that in hindsight might turn out to not be the best decision. None the less, we must move forward. We must teach our kids to make decisions based on the information they have today, but once they make the decision they must have a level of faith.
This is a great time to teach our kids about the importance of having faith. Not faith in humans, but faith in a God that loves them and will carry them through the most difficult times in this life and the life after.

Abuse is a very real thing. We often think of it in physical terms; being hit or punched. The reality is that there are many other types of abuse that can be very severe. During this show, Linda and Merrill have the opportunity to interview intake caseworker for Safe Passage, Beth Kroger.
Beth shares incredible insights, experiences, and advice on how to get the abuse victim to safety and health. Safe Passage has an incredible mission to help those of abuse. No matter the type or situation, they are there for support.
If you or someone you know needs to hear this message, please share it. There is no reason to sit back and knowingly allow anyone to be abused.
