  • 23. Taking a Pause From Running

I decided to took this week off from running. The last few weeks, I’ve noticed aching in my shins after my runs - probably beginning shin splints.

Pausing exercise in the past used to be associated with fear and worry over not burning calories - can you relate?

On this episode, I share why I feel 100% ok with my decision and how I got to this space.

  • 22. Reflections from a Runner

Today I want to share some of the ‘reflections’ I’ve had on my runs over the last couple of years. They’re just short posts that I’ve shared in the past in my Running Community on Facebook ‘Train for a Half Marathon. Maybe some of them will resonate with you - they all have a mindset focus because that’s what I’m all about. Take a listen - my hope is they’ll stir some thoughts up for you to reflect on me and serve as my inspiration. Pick one or two and ‘take them with you on your next run.

  • 17. Mindset of a Coach

I was recently invited to do a community talk and wanted to share some of the questions and answers that came out of it. Some of the questions you’ll get answers to in today’s episode are:

    • Why do you do what you do?
    • What exactly is a mindset coach?
    • Gratitude hill and reframing thoughts
    • You talk a lot about “filling your own cup” and “taking care of you first”. Why is this so important?

  • 16. Using running to achieve new ‘frontiers’

    Why do you run?

    • Running is such a great tool for personal development because much like yoga what happens within us on the run is a reflection of how we deal with things in all areas of our life.
    • Running provides an opportunity to practice dealing with tough situations in one defined area of our life that we can then bring to other areas of our life.
    • Consistently putting ourselves in these challenging situations proves to us that we can handle hard situations and we can bring those skills into our day-to-day life.

  • 15. Can you love yourself to happier runs?

    • How do you want your runs to feel?

    • I wanted to improve so much - and I used to focus on what wasn’t working so I could make  myself do better - but everything stayed the same until I added self-care and these 3 daily practices.

    • For my client Vanessa things had gotten so normalized and she didn’t even realize how much negative self-talk was happening until she joined My Runner’s Mind : ‘I had a habit of very negative self-talk, in running and beyond, and sometimes I didn't even realize I was doing it because of how normalized it was.

The shift, especially in my mindset, has been massive..Now this also allows me to show up with more confidence, presence, and compassion in my relationships and all other areas of my life
