Run to Write episodes

  • Here I Come

Listen in as Brindsley reads from Run to Boston: Poems for the Marathoner.

I hope you find yourself humming today.

    Poem of the day:

    Here I Come

    Boston Marathon here I come
Many years to achieve this one
    I will keep on training
    My mind is gaining
I'm running the roads as I hum

  • Running Moon

I have some help today on this episode. My daughter Delaney reads one of her favorite poems from Run to Boston: Poems for the Marathoner.

    Poem of the Day:

    Running Moon

    Hello Moon

    Good morning to you
Hanging high in the big dark sky
    The clouds have made way
    For your silver shine
    What a joy this morning
It makes it easier to see
    It’s my giant lightbulb
It’s just as special as the sun
    Following me as I run
Up and down hills, around turns too
No matter where the road travels
    Or my speed
The moon is in the lead
Thank you for guiding my way
Thank you for your bright light
You make running in the dark just right

  • Another way into "My Road"

Here’s an audio file of me reading a few paragraphs in Chapter 16 of My Road: A Runner’s Journey Through Persistent Pain to Healing. Hearing things often can bring awareness to something we may have missed on the page.

Listen to this again, read this section out loud in your book or to someone else. Write it down in your journal.

Where are you seeing bioplasticity work for you?

    Poem of the Day:

    I am Bioplastic

    Pain can change, I've learned

    Sensitivity not fixed
    I'm bioplastic
