En: She walked toward him with a concerned look.

Pb: "Ei, você está bem?
En: "Hey, are you okay?

Pb: Seu tornozelo parece machucado.
En: Your ankle looks hurt.

Pb: Posso dar uma olhada?"
En: Can I take a look?"

Pb: ofereceu Isabela com gentileza.
En: offered Isabela kindly.

Pb: Mateus hesitou.

En: His head told him to keep going, but the pain screamed for him to stop.

En: Proud, he wanted to refuse, but João, who had approached upon seeing his friend in trouble, spoke calmly: "Mateus, sometimes it's better to rest and take care of your body.

Pb: Não vais querer agravar a lesão."
En: You don't want to worsen the injury."

En: He sat on a nearby bench as Isabela carefully examined his ankle.

Pb: "Você precisa de gelo e descanso.
En: "You need ice and rest.

Pb: Não deve forçar," disse ela, sorrindo.
En: You shouldn't push it," she said, smiling.

En: With the help of Isabela and João, Mateus went to a kiosk and got some ice.

En: They sat together, Mateus with his ankle elevated, gazing at the shining lake.

Pb: "Obrigado, pessoal.
En: "Thank you, guys.

En: Sometimes I forget that I don't have to do everything alone," said Mateus, somewhat embarrassed but grateful.

En: João gave Mateus a friendly pat on the back.

Pb: "Não se preocupe.
En: "Don't worry.

Pb: Sempre estaremos aqui para te ajudar."
En: We'll always be here to help you."

En: With the sun setting on the horizon, Mateus realized that taking care of himself was more important than any personal record.
