Did you know that Utah is home to 5 of the United State's National Parks? These parks include: 

• Bryce Canyon National Park
• Zion National Park
• Arches National Park
• Canyonlands National Park
• Capitol Reef National Park

And, it is only 1.5 hours from the Grand Canyon on it's southern boarder!

We arrived in Southern Utah, Kanab more specifically in late April. When we arrived, we knew we had a lot to do. We were there for over 3 months, and we still were  not able to do everything we wanted to do!

Utah is probably one of the most beautiful States, and has a ton of hidden gems that you must see.

Before we arrived, we didn't know much about Utah. It's not the most talked about state compared to some of the other more popular destinations. So, our expectations weren't very high. However, after we arrived and started exploring, we can tell you that Utah needs to be on your top 10 list!

In this episode, we discuss some of the amazing trips and exploring we were able to do while we were in Utah. 

Oh ya... And we loved it so much, that after we leave Yellowstone National Park, we are going back!

Starlink is a must for any RVer who needs internet connection.

When it comes to full time living on the road, internet is a pretty important topic. If you're working from your trailer and your job requires you to have reliable internet connection (like us), then internet is a must!

We've had Starlink for over 5 months now, and we share all the good and the bad that comes with the service. We can tell you, that the good far outweighs any bad.

The initial purchase is a bit expensive, but being able to get internet in the middle of nowhere is well worth it.

When we first started, we thought about a mobile hotspot device from Verizon. The Verizon device is good, but we have still encountered many blind spots where service is not able to connect.

My current full time job requires me to be online and attending zoom meetings daily. So this is not something we could mess around with. So, we broke down and purchased the Starlink.

We at first tested it back home for 1 month prior to leaving. The connection was so good that we were able to cancel our home internet immediately!

The only thing that is required, is to update your service address (Or get the RV package) and a good exposure to the northern sky! We've had zero complaints and the connection works well even in storms.

Starlink is a must for any RVer who needs internet connection!

Oh, and don't cal your dish "Dishy".....

NOTE: Starlink is really mean for those remote areas that do not have modern conveniences like large cities. If you live in a city that has the option to connect with broadband etc, then Starlink is not for you.

When you plan to make a trip, are you ensuring that your rig and tow vehicle is properly maintained, inspected and ready for road worthiness? 

We've all seen the posts on facebook and other social media channels where a rig had a major issue; tire blow out, leaf spring snapping, wheel bearings locking or other major issues. 

So, what is your routine maintenance check list? In this episode we discuss how we prepared ahead of time over a series of a few weeks to prepare for our next big move. 

Maintenance:

• Checking and re-sealing the roof
• Greasing the wheel bearings 
• Greasing leaf springs
• Torque tightening wheels and U Bolts
• Checking tires and tire pressure
• replacing TPMS batteries
• Checking all caulk lines

Well, it happened... After just a few weeks in, we had a small little visitor who also wanted to make the RV his little home as well.

Don't be a statistic! 

Hiking is an amazing way to experience and explore the world. There are so many beautiful places to see! And, most of all, hiking is the perfect way disconnect from the world and become inundated with your senses. 

However, too many people fail to prepare for the "What if" and the worst case scenarios. You will never find us conducting a hike without proper gear. We always over pack; extra snacks and water is the bare minimum. We also ensure we have some medical supplies. We do this for EVERY hike. 

Many people may call us "paranoid" or "weird", but the reality of the situation is, you never know what can happen. What if you fall and break and leg, an ankle or worse and you can't get out of the area you are in? Or, what if you stumble upon someone who needs help? 

Being prepared is not only safe for you, but you can help others potentially!

A question we hear, and get asked a lot about is, "Residency" - and more specifically how to establish a new domicile since you'll now be living life on the road.

The answer is more simple than you think. We used a company called Dakota Post which can help you establish your residency in South Dakota. 

But why South Dakota you ask? Well, we chose this state because of they are income tax friendly! This means, I do not have to pay state taxes on my earned wages from my job back to the State of South Dakota. So that, saved me $300+ per month. 

Secondly, South Dakota was just easy to establish residency. After completing the necessary paperwork with Dakota post, they give you a legit mailing address where you forward your mail to, and they will contact and forward the mail to you anywhere you are! This address is a legal address that can be used on all government forms and driver's license. 

And finally, the ease of requirements to obtain the necessary time limits to establish residency was 1 night in the state and then 1 night every 5 years! 

The entire process was so simple and easy, we are so glad we did it!

"How do you stay fit on the road?" is one of the most asked questions we hear often. Lot's of people have a misconception that RV living is just "daily camping". While there is some truth to the matter, being fit on the road is a very important aspect of our lives. 

As most of you may know by now, we owned a gym. So being physically active is a huge pat of our life and is just something we enjoy doing. 

We aren't going to say that our fitness routine hasn't had it's difficulties and challenges. We don't always have the access to many of the same amenities, so life on the road means we need to overcome and adapt to changes. 

In this episode we are giving you some tips and tricks that we have done and plan to do when we don't necessarily have access to a gym and equipment. 

Remember after all, that you got into this life to see and enjoy the world. Being physically fit and capable is an important aspect of this way of living.

On this episode, Corian and I discuss our maiden voyage from Wisconsin to Utah which took us a total of 10 days to skirt across the country and cover over 2,021 miles. We are sharing just how we accomplished this major feat and what tools, tips and tricks carried us through it all to land us at our final destination. Not every mile was fun and games though, we had to overcome some of mother natures' non cooperative side which even caused us to pivot at the last second adding over 4 total hours to the trip.

All this and more! But first, here's some key statistics that we tracked of this entire trip:

Travel stats

• Total days: 10days 9 nights
• Total Miles: 2021 (with towing more driving around places)
• Total drive time: 32.5 hours
• Total states: 8..but really 7. (WI,MN,SD,WY,CO,NM,AZ,UT) 
• Shortest day: 2hrs (Badlands to Custer)
• Longest day: (Brandon to badlands w/ 4 hr wait) or walsenburg to Cortez 
• Fuel: gallons/cost (lowest 4.72 rapid city South Dakota highest 5.19 walsenburg co) 224….@$5=$1100 or so in fuel. 
• Meals: $230 when we left…$158=388 Less than $40/day :) 
• Miscellaneous cost: $30 car fluids, $50 park fees and lunch @ the gym…, $379 cooler…holster, def fluid, odin snack pack & park fees, $30 car computer charger =$489
• Campgrounds/boondocking: 7 nights never w/ water and rarely electric, 2 nights no hook ups (Cracker Barrel and loves) 
• Cost of camping: $36, $56/2nights, $25 (last min) $64/2 nights, $41 (last min) = $222
• Total costs: 2083
• Coldest night: 15 in Brandon, Sd…
• Windiest day: Brandon to badlands 50+ Mph Gusts
• Highest elevation: 10,764 on hwy 160 between south fork and pages springs (7% grade coming down!)
