We discuss the politicization of the judicial system in light of recent remarks regarding judicial independence by Canada Supreme Court Chief Justice Richard Wagner. This is followed by a closer examination of two recent Supreme Court rulings, one regarding concurrent sentences for multiple murders, and another about diminished capacity for violent crimes.
