In this week’s podcast, Mark Williams is joined by Mathieu Philippe, Commercial Director, Marine Offshore Division, Bureau Veritas. In this wide-ranging discussion, Mathieu explains the contribution that BV is making as a class society in assisting shipping to address and comes up with solutions to the challenge of decarbonisation.

Started in 1999 as a trainee at BRS in Paris, Mathieu went to Dubai in 2002 and was there for eight years, before being hired by UACC as Commercial VP where he was responsible for Sale and Purchase before becoming COO. After six years he returned to Europe, joining SOCAR in Geneva to build its own shipping company, including vessel chartering. He joined BV Marine and Offshore in 2020 where he is Commercial Director, based in Paris.
