What Is An Amateur? In the days of Bobby Jones it was a golfer who did not compete for money. It was a golfer who played simply for the love of the game. Maybe they were great golfers, like Bobby Jones. Or maybe not great golfers like Linda Zender (she finished last in her club championship this year). Today, however, it seems that “Amateurs” are simply golfers who haven’t yet turned Pro! Is there any place(s) for the average amateur golfer to compete these days?
