First, Kris Ketcham, Senior Manager of Brewing and Innovation at Stone Brewing, shares the history that Stone Brewing has with the smoked beers style. Then, the BrewDeck crew talks to Mark Vierthaler, Head Distiller at Whiskey Del Bac, which specializes in making American single malt whiskeys. Mark discusses smoking and malting what Whiskey Del Bac considers "mesquited, not peated malt." Finally, Anne Aviles, Lead Brewer at Steeplejack Brewing, shares how they enjoy smoked beers in a 100+ year old church building.
