 Eric Jones joined the fire service in 2006 and has served as a volunteer, part-time and full-time firefighter. Eric is currently a Captain and Training Officer with the Scottsburg Fire Department in southern Indiana. Captain Jones is passionate about continuing education and training in the fire service. He has worked with several organizations including the IFIA (Indiana Fire Instructors Association), FDIC (Fire Department Instructors Conference), IDHS (Indiana Department of Homeland Security) and more developing programs, conducting training and education boards. Captain Jones was awarded the 2022 Indiana Fire Instructor of the Year by the Indiana Fire Chiefs Association and has published articles on Social Media Impacts in the Fire Service, Responsibilities of Fire Service Leaders, and Personal and Professional Assessments in the Fire Engineering magazine
