Rich started his fire service career with the West Long Branch Volunteer Fire Department in 1982. In 1994, he was hired with the Submarine Base Fire Department CT DoD, assigned to E26, 11 and L15. From there he went on to Fort Monmouth Fire Department NJ DoD transferred to NJ in 1997, assigned to E3, Ladder 1, and Rescue 1. In 2003, Capt. completed the fire academy class for the City of Clifton Fire Department and was assigned to Engines 3 and 5. A few years later, in 2006, he became a member of the Newark Fire Department. He was assigned to R1 as a firefighter, getting promoted a year and a half later to Captain of Rescue 1. He retired in December of 2025. Rich was not just involved in the fire service, Mr. Cooper raced cars in the Meadowlands. We have no doubt that this show will be a doozy. Be sure and join us with our special guest, 18 year FDNY veteran, Lieutenant Brian Burik. Brian started his career in EMS in 1997. Then in 2000 he went to the fire academy, and was assigned to Ladder 28 out of probie school. In 2005 Brian went to Rescue 1 until 2012 where he was promoted to Lieutenant, assigned to Division 11, in Tower ladder 146. In 2014 he moved on to SOC to be a part of SCUBA / Swiftwater, bouncing around the unit until 2017. After SOC he went to Rescue School SSL until retiring in 2018. After retirement Brian didn't stop, he went on to create another successful career. No doubt Lt. has some great stories for us and we can't wait to hear them. Especially with his new career, involving most firefighters favorite, coffee or should I say.....CAW-FEE..... Gonna be another great show. We will get the whole skinny. We will be paying Tribute to her husband FDNY FF Billy Moon Rescue 2 who died on Dec. 20, 2022. Billy was a 21 year veteran of the FDNY, and 28 year active member and former Chief of Dept- Islip Volunteer Dept. He succumbed to his injuries after a fall preparing for a training exercise in Rescue 2. He spent 20 years in L133 in South Jamaica. Kristina started the Billy Moon Foundation after being asked to speak at the rock. She realized that people believe in organ donation, but not enough are really talking about it. Now, not only do they speak and advocate around the country, but provide financial assistance to organ donor and recipient families for things like food, travel, lodging, even medication. Kristina donated Billy's organs and saved 5 lives- 2 retired members of the dept. One had 9/11 lung disease. ""Organ donation was the light in my darkest hours. Knowing that my husband would live on, even in his death, provided me a sense of peace through our family's tragedy. I have even built relationships with three of his five recipients; all of whom I now consider family." Nuff Said.... It’s going to be another great conversation. We will get the whole skinny. Be sure and join us with our special guest, 20 year FDNY veteran, Lieutenant Serge Burack. Serge started his career as a Junior firefighter with Elmont Fire Department in 1977, and in 1981 was sworn in to the Elmont Fire Department on Engine 4. Serge took the FDNY test and began Probie school on August 3rd,1985. In September of 85, right out of probie school, he was assigned to Engine 76. In 1988 he transferred across the floor to 22 Truck. Then in 1994 Mr. Burack would transfer to Ladder 126. In 1997 Serge was promoted to Lieutenant, assigned to the 15th Division. In 1998 Lt. went to Engine 234. In 2002 - 2003 he was detailed to OEM for a short time. After that, transferred across the floor again, to 123 truck, ultimately retiring in 2005. No doubt Lt. has some great stories for us and we can't wait to hear them. Especially working on the 4th of July in 1991. Gonna be another great show. We will get the whole skinny.
