It's a new season and it's our main character's birthday! After summer vacation everyone is celebrating Elena, but she doesn't feel like celebrating with Stefan still out of Mystic Falls. And it's a shame she isn't seeing him because when Stefan is being evil, he is also being very very hot. Caroline throws a party where a joint is passed but never smoked, sexual tension builds, and not a single high schooler seems weirded out that their history teacher is there. Plus, the effect of Gossip Girl's sexiness on teen dramas as a whole, assumed restaurant gossip at the Mystic Grill, and the death of a character who we all are surprised made it to season 3.
