The Originals (now officially known as the Mikaelsons) are reunited and taking the opportunity to celebrate with the kind of theatricality we have come to expect from them - a huge ball! Everyone has ulterior motives - Klaus wants to smooch Caroline, Rebekah wants to smooch Matt, Stefan and Damon want to smooch Elena, Esther wants to kill all of her children - wait what? That’s right, Esther is no better than Mikael and also wants to see her children die. But she needs Elena’s help, which she sadly gives. The love triangle tensions rise and cause Damon to take a new kind of self-destructive tactic. Romance and bloodlust are in the air - but also horses and pretty dresses!
