Bend it like Beckham is a 2002 Sports Romantic Comedy directed by Gurinder Chadha… it’s the story of Jesminder or Jess Bhamra played by Parminder Nagra. Jes comes from a British Indian, Punjabi, Sikh family living in London. Jess is OBSESSED with football but her parents Mohaan and Suhki very much want her to focus on other priorities. But, Jess meets Juliette played by Keira Knightly who is on a female football team in London, their coach Joe played by Jonathan Rhys Meyers brings Jess onto the team and it turns out, she has enough talent to possibly play in a pro league in the United States.
