S4 E 13: "Your Illness Doesn't Define You" (w/ Dr. Meg)

Dr. Meaghan Anderson is a Doctor of Physical Therapy with 12 years experience and is the owner of the private practice, Rising Tides Restorative Training, LLC, created specifically for long COVID rehabilitation. She received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Northeastern University in 2013. Her time at Northeastern University was recognized with various awards recognizing leadership, entrepreneurial or innovative spirit, volunteerism and community engagement. Since then, she spent nearly a decade working in the acute care and acute rehabilitation setting. From 2020-2023, Dr. Anderson spent hours, days, and months in isolation working with people severely ill with covid, she saw first-hand the devastating effects that covid has on the mind, body, and soul. She quickly realized that this group of people was being left behind and this fueled her mission to launch her private practice in 2021. Her persistent curiosity and growing dedication to Long COVID treatment has led her to become engaged in advocacy for the long COVID population, having attended the 2024 U.S. Healthcare Leadership Summit on Long COVID rehabilitation. She has also been presenting her work on long COVID to university physical therapy programs, state, regional, and national level APTA chapters. Recently, she was published in the Cardiopulmonary Physical Therapy Journal's special edition on Long COVID. Dr. Meg Anderson is a humble and determined Covid Rehabilitation Specialist who believes that in a world where Long COVID doesn't have a clear cut cure and is often dismissed, it is her calling to teach the public that the physical therapy profession has a breadth of knowledge to handle this emerging condition, while also providing PTs/PTAs with the skills to deliver.
