This very special summer of 2024 is an opportunity to recall the fundamentals of the history of swimming pools in France, oscillating between luxury facilities and those for all - a contrasting history, therefore, which today culminates in the new Saint-Denis Olympic aquatic center designed by VenhoevenCS and Ateliers 2/3/4, paradoxically ample but by default too small, which local populations will be able to enjoy, like a pledge of social emancipation.
