S7 Ep1: Jessica Vosk, the ultimate Broadway diva

Listen Later

We're back for a very special episode with Broadway's Jessica Vosk ahead of her upcoming London concert!

In her 20s, Jessica was an associate director for a boutique investor relations firm in New York City, where she consulted major companies on Wall Street. She then left that career behind, to start a brand-new career on Broadway!

Jessica made her Broadway debut as a swing in the original cast of The Bridges of Madison Country by Jason Robert Brown. She went on to appear in the Broadway productions of Finding Neverland and Fiddler on the Roof.

in 2016, Jessica joined the US National Tour of Wicked as Elphaba. After receiving tremendous acclaim for her performance, Jessica transferred to Wicked on Broadway where she played Elphaba for the musical's 15th anniversary.

Jessica originated the roles of Aunt Val and Kate Bush in the world premiere of Becoming Nancy in Atlanta and starred as The Narrator in the 50th Anniversary Concert of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at Lincoln Center.

Jessica is currently starring in Get Happy: A Judy Garland Centennial Celebration ahead of joining the off-Broadway company of The Bedwetter for the final week of the musical's run. Later this summer she will reprise her performance as The Narrator in Joseph at the Muny.

Later this month Jessica will play Cadogan Hall in London on Sunday 17th July. The show was originally scheduled to take place earlier this year, but was postponed due to illness. Visit www.cadoganhall.com for info and tickets.

In this episode Jessica discusses why she insists on speaking out about what she stands for, how she got in trouble for riffing in Wicked and her dream of doing a musical in London!
